I'm looking for help finding a government program that offers free or low income therapy for kids that have development issues. When we lived in SC, the program was called Babynet and they came out and did in home therapy with him. But they weren't much help finding me places down here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My son and daughter received speech therapy through Early Steps (for free). Now that my son is 3 he is being transitioned to Child Find of Hillsborough Co. (also free). I believe both agencies provide therapies for all types of developmental issues. I believe they both have websites too. Hope this helps.

In Florida its called early steps. It is free. The process can be long if the child hasn't been evaluated yet. Go online to myflorida.com There you will find info and resources. Hope that helps. J.

Hi A., My name is K. S. There are several places you can take your children to therapy. Are you from Tampa? Are your children on Medicaid? Or, do you have any insurance coverage for you and your children? What sort of therapy are you looking for? The places listed below deal with speech, occupational and physical therapies. Here is a list of places you can try:
Independant Living ###-###-####
Beth Ingram and Assoc ###-###-####
Achieve of TampaBay/United Cerebal Paulsy ###-###-####
KidPro ###-###-####
Getting physical therapy is hard as there isn't alot of physical therapists in the tampa area. The only 2 places that go to homes are Independant Living and KidPro. And even that is hard. You end up being on a waiting list/especially for OT and PT.

I have 2 boys under the autism umbrella, they both are on Medicaid and they both get therapy services from Achieve of Tampabay. All the places I mentioned above are very good. I hope this helps.
