Seeking Hair Salon in Vabch for Senior Citizen

I am hoping someone may know of a salon in Virginia Beach that caters to senior citizens. I would like to take my 86 year old grandmother to get her hair cut and set (like the older salons used to) and possibly a manicure. I do not want to take her to a modern salon where the music is blasting and all the people are under 20. I would like for her to be as comfortable as possible to make this a positive experience. I live in southern Virginia Beach and really would like to stay some what nearby. Thanks for any suggestions.

What can I do next?

I go to a place called the Hair loft and I see Debbie. She is wonderful. I won't trust anyone else with my hair. She has been doing my since I was about 3 and I am going on 28. She also did my mom's hair when she lived in the area. I notice that she does hair for a lot of senior citizens, they also do manicures too. It is located in the Timberlake shopping center at the corner of Holland and S. Plaza Trail. The # there is ###-###-####.

I go to the Hair Cuttery and I get Jennifer to cut my hair. She is very good, I had been looking for someone to cut my hair the way I wanted it and she is really good. I don't know the exact address, but I have a phone number for her: ###-###-####. She fills her appointment book fast, so call to make the appointment. I have been going there for about 5 years now and they don't play music and I see alot of older women in there quite often. I like the atmosphere and the service. I hope you like it.

There's a little place in London Bridge Shopping center on the corner of Great Neck and VB Blvd. It's called La Paree (sp?) and it's got a HUGE senior clientele. It's just like an old school beauty salon. Has the old fashioned hair dryers and all the women are getting sets and come in once a week.

Any of the hair cutteries are good. The have all ages of people in and out. I would call and make an appointment for her and that way she won't have to wait very long. Hope this helps.

I don't know of a salon like that in VABeach, but in Olde Towne Portsmouth, there is a salon on Green Street and London Blvd (the corner) that caters to clients who are mostly elderly. They are a a wonderful group of ladies and do an excellent job in color and cut. I go there myself and I'm only 30. It's almost like a Truvie's from Steel Magnolia's. lol Just a little more upscale. The Salon is called Pam's Hair Designers and the # is ###-###-####. 434 Green Street Portsmouth, VA.

La Paree @ the corner of Great Neck & VB Blvd. Where the Pollards chicken is or use or use to be there is a vet office in the shopping center too. My grandmother got her hair done there once a week before she passed. They are great with old people...I think that is the majority of their clients (seniors). They will even walk them to their cars if they are solo.
