I am in college right now and still have about five years ahead of me. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find money, grants, scholarships for working moms. I dont even know how to go about looking for money out there for people in my situation. Thanks

What can I do next?

Besides being a lawyer, I teach at Rochester College in Rochester, MI. They have an accelerated program which means that if you are over age 24 years you can complete in a shorter time. I know that the college has an office wherein they help you find the money you need. You might want to call them and see if they can meet your needs. ###-###-####.

Hi L. -

If you haven't already, I would make an appointment with the schools financial aid office. They should have a book/listing of grants/scholarships and a financial aid officer should be able to help point you in the right direction.

Hello,
And I hate to piggyback off of your post, but...

I'm kind of in the same boat. I got accepted to a program at Western last fall and still haven't returned to school because I can't afford it. Would you mind letting me know if you get any helpful responses from this?

I am a 34 year old single working mother of an almost 4 year old little girl. I want to return to school and get my Master's but can't seem to make it work financially yet.

Thanks!
J.

First fill out a FASA, http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. You will need to be accepted in the school first. It is a federal application and if you are qualified, you can receive federal grants, loans, work study, etc. You may also be eligible for a grant from your school.

For scholarships, you can check out www.Fastweb.com.

Good Luck!
