Hello Mom's,
I need to choose a new pediatrician for my 8 year old daughter from our new insurance plan. I'm wondering if anyone has feedback on any of the following pediatricians:
(all in the Poway area):
Dr. Leslie McCormick, Dr. Lisa Loegering, Dr. Maria Valbuena-Padilla, Dr. Janet Battey....
In addition to being a knowledgable Doctor, I'm also looking for someone with a gentle, sweet nature.

Dr. Tai at Valle Verde Pediatrics in Poway. He is amazing and a GREAT pediatrician! I have seen him referred by other mommies on this site too. Good luck!
I see you list Dr. Janet Battey who works out of Scripps Clinic Rancho Bernardo. We see Dr. Juliet Bleha from the same office and love her to bits. We got her purely by chance. We hadn't chosen a ped when my oldest was born and she had an apt so we could leave the hospital early(less then 24 hrs after his birth) and have him seen the next day as part of being able to leave early. Both my boys love her and we'll be taking our third to her when she's born this June. She's very knowledgeable and never makes you feel stupid or bad for your choices or your questions. She listens to you and respects your choices. She's not outdated in anything she does and is willing to work with you to find a solution you are comfortable with. We do not like using a lot of medications etc unless they are absolutely needed, we prefer natural remedies when at all possible, though we do recognize the need for pharmacuticals for some things. We have seen Dr Battey before in emergencies when Dr Bleha was not available and she was OK but I do not think I would be comfortable with her as my full time ped. She seems far more reliant on heavily medicating then I prefer. My son is very prone to croup and the treatment Dr Bleha would give vs the one Dr Battey gave was very different, with the one Dr Battey giving being far more medications.
Dr. McCormick is wonderful. She saw my 5 year old in the hospital when she was born. Another good pediatrician, someone I would absolutely trust my children with, is Dr. Albert Martinez, he is with Children's Primary Care Medical, though I am not sure if he works out of the Poway office with Dr. McCormick. My kids had been going to CPCMG since we moved to Escondido in 2000. Every doctor on staff there has a wonderful demeanor with the kids. Hope that helps.
Both of my daughters see Dr Bowers. She works out of Poway and is absolutely wonderful to both our newborn and our 4 year old. She is very patient and sweet, she talks to the 4 year old and really involves her. She has always been able to answer ALL of my questions and is very knowledgeable in her practice. I know it is not one of the doctors you were asking about, but she is fabulous and in that same Poway area. Goodluck!
