Hi All ~

We recently moved to The Woodlands and are looking for some new doctors. We've been making the hour long trek to see our old doctors and it's getting exhausting.

I prefer ones who don't make you wait for long in the waiting room. I also prefer the nurses station to be open. I don't like being shut out behind a tiny frosted glass window. We also would prefer that the dr take his or her time and not jump to a prescription as a means of treatment.

Please suggest some good doctors that we might check out.

What can I do next?

Dr. Calvin Jochetz is a fabulous dentist - does everything in his own office, so you don't have to see someone else for crowns, etc. Scott Andersen is a great pediatic dentist, both my kids go to him - he's very compassionate and won't try to push you to have baby teeth that are beginning to have a cavity pulled (like Ragsbale does). For a family doctor, we just go to Panther Creek Medical center. Jeff Chimenti is the best ENT you'll ever find. Even his partner, Rance Raney (sounds like he ought to be a soap star) is great. We've seen all of the doctors there and they're all very nice. We've lived here for 15 years and I still go see my gyn the kids' pediatrians over at Memorial City....old habits...

Our pediatrician is Dr. Susan O'Neil. We like her because she is as much of a "drug pusher" as some other docs. Susan Parkerson is also in the same practice. She is also wonderful.

She is awesome! Very down-to-earth and speaks to you like a normal person. Answers questions with no problem or attitude & really takes her time with you. She's even gone more in-depth with a question I had, answering questions I hadn't thought to ask. When I first met her, I thought she was another nurse coming in, as she was dressed down in scrubs just like the rest of her staff. I just can't recommend her enough!

She was definitely a wonderful change from the doc I had in Lubbock who hurried you out, made you feel like an idiot for asking questions, and didn't tell me I had preeclampsia when I was prego with my son- what a nightmare!

Sorry I can't help on the others as I'd like a new GP also! Our pedi is on 290 in Cypress, and my dentist is on Jones @ West Rd (close to 290 & Jones). Both are amazing, but may be a bit of a drive for you.

I have to second Pam B on Dr. Scott Andersen for a pediatric dentist. He is in Panther Creek in the Woodlands--###-###-####

In fact, we were just in his office yesterday and both my kids LOVED it. My daughter (age 5) usually terrified of anything medical and Dr. Andersen and his staff were awesome with her. She got her xrays and everything, no problem, I was amazed.

My son had a cavity (I feel so guilty about it) but Dr. Andersen was so kind and reassured me that cavity tendencies are inherited as much as anything (I had scads!). My son actually looks forward to going back and getting it filled. Hope this info helps!

I go to OB/GYN Dr. Marco Giannotti in The Woodlands at Women's Healthcare Affiliates. He is wonderful. Very personable, everyone I know goes to him. The phone # is ###-###-####. My pediatrician is Dr. Kristi Chandler at Hometown Pediatrics, but I would also recommend Dr. John or Dr. Hill within the same practice. The phone # there is ###-###-####. Dentist is Dr. Holmes. Can't remember the # off the top of my head though. Good luck.
