We have a 4.5 year old girl and a 6 year old boy and we'd like to get away for a weekend in February. Doesnt really matter where we go - just want it to be about a 3 hours or less drive from Boston area. Looking for a "fun" hotel. Which could mean anything - a fun inside pool, etc. Any recommendations?
Thanks!

My sister lives in Keene, NH which is a cute student town with lots of little shops and restaurants and some awesome hiking trails nearby. Not sure if there is a luxury hotel to make the stay more fun, but you could google it. Mount Monadnock is near there, I think it is the most hiked mountain since it has an easy path to the top and great views from its bald (no trees at the top) head.
Ogunquit or Kennebunkport are also great towns, but since water is the main attraction perhaps not in Feb.

Have you tried the Cape Codder in Hyannis? They have a really neat indoor wave pool that kids love. Be aware, though, that February vacation week is a zoo there (at least, it was when we tried it) and the pool is, for me anyway, way too crowded. When our kids were younger we used to go the the Sheraton in Hyannis for 2 - 4 days during February vacation. They have an indoor pool which my kids just loved and would have different things at different times during the day that were kid or family focused. There was cookie decorating for an hour or so one day. I think there was a short magic show one afternoon. I remember nights when there was a family-type movie in the lounge and I believe there were snacks and drinks available to purchase. My kids loved being able to go to the lounge in their PJs and watch the movie.

Have fun! It's a great time to just get away and burn off some energy but without being so involved or expensive as, say, a trip to Disney.

Coco Key Water Resorts are a blast! One of my kids has been invited with a friend several times and it's great for them (they were 10 and 12 the two times they went) and my friend's younger kids as well, who are 3. The one they go to is in Danvers. Here is the web site:

North Conway, Indoor water park, very close to outlets for shopping. Looks fun. I've been to the hotel before there was a water park (and before I had kids).

Great Escape Lodge and Indoor Waterpark in Lake George, NY. It's right across from the Great Escape amusement park, too. Lake George has a lot to do. There's the amusement park, there's a western town, there's another amusement park with a storybook theme, I think. The latter was a bit cheesy but our kids had a great time there. There's also a lot of outlet shops, some neat restaurants and plenty of outdoor activities too.

I'm going to recommend CoCo Keys as well, it is pretty cool - I took my 2 and 4 year old last year and they had a blast!
Also, how about Red Jacket Resorts - indoor water park/hotel - I think there is one in N.Conway, NH...close to outlets, shopping too!
