Seeking Flaxseed Supplement for My Child

I have been in deep search for eczema relief for my 5 year old who is suffering from it. I have read that Omega 3, if given over a period of time, can help eczema. I'm reading it's more of an internal solution rather than an external. I'm actually looking into external and internal solutions. She is allergic to fish so the Omega 3 with fish oil I can not give. I know Flax oil has Omega 3 in it as well but she does not like the oil. I am looking for any type of supplement, gummy perhaps? Do they exist? I've googled and haven't found. I tried the oil in applesauce and she doesn't like it.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I ended up using the flax oil in my hair as its supposed to be good there too and went and got the ground flax and put some in her some applesauce and she liked it just fine. No complaints! Either way, I'm just glad the oil didn't go to waste. That's not cheap oil!

I too sprinkle ground flaxseed on oatmeal, cereal, applesauce, yogurt, smoothies for my family. 2 Tbl/day for an adult - I try to aim for 1Tbl/day for the kids.
My now 6 yr old suffered from eczema too. My chiropractor/nutritionist recommened probiotics. We use a powder, FloraBoost by OrthoMolecular Products. When she first had an issue around the age of 2 with a flare up from head to toe, we added a serving of probiotics daily to her diet. It took about 2 months to completely clear up and ever since I give her a serving 2-3 times per week. She has only had mild spots no larger than a quarter since that large flare up. When she gets a spot (usually on her legs) then she gets the probiotic daily for a few days...then back to 2-3 times/wk.
From my understanding, boosting the immune system is what helps clear the eczema. Also know that it can, not always, be associated with food allergies. My daughter is allergic to peanuts.

My 5 year old also has bad eczema. I found that the weather played a big role as well as my laundry detergent. Adding probiotics is god as well. After going thru products I found some detergent and lotion that has really helps and soothes her skin- Melaleuca. They also have really good probiotics. If you do not know anyone with it I'd be happy to help you. Good luck- I know it is very frustrating!!

I sneak it into lots of stuff now. Applesauce, yogurt, muffins, etc. I use flaxmeal.

I use the oil in things like spaghetti sauce or mac and cheese. It does have more of an olive oil type taste so I gave up putting it in sweet things, it was too strong.

I use ground flax seeds (whole seeds aren't absorbed, have to be ground). Sprinkle them in everything- cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, applesauce, muffins, bread, pb&j sandwiches, smoothies. You may find supplements, but I suggest trying to sneak them flaxseeds/meal into other things. I think you'll be surprised how easy it is. Plus, find out the recommended amount per day, and spread it out over the day. I'm sure it will be easier than you think. Good luck!

Nordic Naturals for Children.

My son has been taking the chewable strawberry (little balls that pop in your mouth) and he loves them!

Nordic Naturals multivitamins for children are great too!!

After re-reading your post, I guess these aren't appropriate with fish allergy.

Luckyvitamin.com has other great products though....

Hope this helps...
