From August 2007: Hello, I am close to enrolling my 29 month old son at this school, first in the toddler room and then he will move to the preschool room in a few months. If you have or have had a child enrolled I would love to hear your thoughts!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

So... we enrolled him today...he spent a good first half day in the toddler room, in fact he didn't want to leave. I stuck around for the first hour and was very impressed with the teachers and the director. Something I like about the place is the stability and experience of the staff and their willingness to answer my questions. The children were also really welcoming and well-behaved. So far, so good. Will keep you posted. A big THANK YOU to all of you who answered my request!

January 2008: Another update now 5 months into the program...We continue to be very happy with Miniapple, the teachers and the director are great, and we have really seen our son progress so much, so fast in his independent skills. And most important to me, he loves it and saying goodbye in the morning is easy!

May 2008: Mikey has been in the preschool room now for 6 months. He really has learned so many independent skills and further his great social skills. He adjusts easily when I drop him off. He has developed friendships. I think the staff is really caring, and affectionate, and respectful of each child. I appreciate the feedback they give me. The facility is always very clean and tidy (with the exception of when the children are playing with things) and they have great materials for the children to learn. I meet a lot of happy parents.

Our son is in the toddler room at the Miniapple in Dinkytown and we are in love!!! He was at Children's World as an infant and the montessori is a much better fit for our family. They have a nicely structured day and they do many more educational activities with the kids versus other day care centers in my experience. They also seem to have a better handle on dealing with behavior issues as they arise and our kiddo has made huge advances with obeying rules, etc since enrolling. The teachers seem to be there because they really care about nurturing kids (not because it is a job that pays more than minimum wage) and it just seems like more of a family environment than a true daycare. We treat it more like school and even if my husband or I have a day off we try to get him there for even just a couple of hours so he can have the consistency and see his favorite teachers and friends. I can't say enough good things about this group...you made a great decision!

I only had brief experience with the infant room and it wasn't a good fit for our family. But I have a friend whose son is in the preschool and they love it.

Hey J.,

Our daughter Sierra is at Roseville's Miniapple too. She is in Veronica's classroom, Children's House 2. We just love Miniapple too.

If I run into you in the morning, I have red hair medium to short. Sierra is three and brown-haired and wears a purple jacket and purple snowpants. Hope to see you around.

Our daughter has attended the Miniapple International Montessori in Dinkytown for a year now, we plan to send our son this fall once we've finished potty training. We have no experience with the toddler room, only the preschool.

I have been impressed with her experience. I, too, am a California native and I really wanted to find a diverse classroom. Miniapple (at least the Dinkytown location) provides that for my daughter. She has really thrived there, she has enjoyed the music, French and this summer also did soccer. As parents we have had many opportunities to come into the classroom and participate as well.

Please feel free to send me a message if you have any specific questions.

I have two children at Miniapple (Oakdale location), one in the toddler room and one now in preschool, who was also in the infant and toddler programs. Our family has been extremely happy with the school. We've been impressed with the music, Spanish and sign language opportunities, as well as the structure of activities throughout the day involving both learning and play. We have also found the staff to be easy to work with, very respectful and excellent with our children. I'd be happy to answer any other specific questions you may have, and hope you find what works best for your family.
