His name is Kenny Smith - he does birthdays, weddings, parties, special events, sports announcing, etc. He's worked in broadcasting for over twenty years and has done private "jocking" for at least that long. I know of a GREAT DJ in the Dallas Metroplex! He is very professional and punctual and has done the whole gamut from Children's parties, high school yearbook signings to NFL and Corporate events. We used Melody Gualtiere from Melodies and Memories for both of our daughters' Bat Mitzvah parties. She is reasonably priced and she keeps the kids engaged. She will come to your home to meet with you regarding music choices, party ideas, etc. She will arrive well in advance of the party to set up her equipment. Here is a link to her website.
I have a 13 yr old daughter and we had a huge party for her birthday in December with a DJ.
I went with Complete Music ###-###-#### and my account was handled by Ron Sexton. It is a professionally run DJ service company. They do all kinds of events. If you use them, you sign a contract and place a deposit. You can go to their music site and see the latest music they have. They have forms for you to send in that go as far as telling the DJ the type of attire to wear, games and special songs to play, etc. We were very pleased with this company and will use them again.
Expect to pay around $600 for a good DJ. If you go over the time limit they charge by the hour. Our DJ showed up on time to set everything up and the party was run smoothly.
