I'm looking for a day care in the Frisco, Texas area where there is a low student teacher ratio and more emphasis on education vs. baby sitting

Hi C.~

Have you tried looking on the Texas Child Care Search site. You can find home-based and center-based providers, both licensed and registered. Here's the website:

http://www.dfps.state.tx.us/child_care/Search_Texas_Child...

Most places have a website where you can check out the curriculum. Also, bear in mind that low student-to-teacher ratio, especially in that age range, is not impossible to find, but it is a little hard. When I worked in a center-based daycare, I had about 20 two-year olds in my class. That was between me and another teacher. If you are looking for home-based care, also keep in mind that the caregiver is trying to divide their attention amongst possibly 11 other childen (the max they can have is 12). Plus they may not keep good notes of what goes on with your kiddo during the day. That is why we are moving my kiddo to a center-based facility. At least there, I will know what his schedule is and be able to maintain a similar schedule at home.

I know this is wordy and I wish you well on your search. Best of luck.

I looked at over 10 schools before choosing Fingerprints Private Preschool. I couldn't be happier with my choice and my child loves it.

You can also check out Apple Creek (very good but only morning or afternoon programs), Frisco Montessori and Starwood Montessori.

As far as a dance school, we enrolled at Sheena's for two months. I pulled my daughter out and will wait until she's 3 to go somewhere better. I wouldn't recommend them.

My son(alos 4 yrs) goes to Kids Corral in Aubrey which isnt too far from Frisco. He has been there almost 6 months and we all love it! He has learned so much since starting there. There are 15 kids in his class and the teachers are great. They have different programs, he goes 9-2 everyday but they also have full time where you can drop them off as early as 7am and pick them up at 6:30 and its very resonable. let me know if i can get you more info.
