I plan on returning to work some time soon. My main motivation is getting good healthcare for my family. I have experience in the food service industry and am mostly interested in a cooking/chef position. My husband would like me to have a 9 to 5 office job, but I don't type very quickly. I'm really pretty open to anything.

If any of you happen to know of a company that offers good medical coverage (you can pick and switch doctors easily and have small co-pays) please let me know. I've got my eye on Darden (Oilve Garden and Red Lobster) and some one told me Starbucks has pretty good insurance. I'm really just looking for a bunch of suggestions, so I have more options to think about.

Thanks.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you for all the good suggestions! It realy helped me think about it freshly, but it continues to be an on-going conversation with my hubby. We've even talked more about me going back to school, which I had thought was off the table. I'll be sure to let you all know what I choose when I get there, just wanted to say thank you!

Here's an idea...how about trying Aramark or Sodexho? These companies run the food service areas for big companies like Wells Fargo and Honeywell. You would be working for a big company in a field you enjoy, and also could work more "regular" business hours.....

Check out the State of MN's website- the State has the best insurance around! The address is http://www.doer.state.mn.us/employment.htm. You can build your resume right in the system and apply very easily. That is how I found my current job.

Good luck!

IKEA also has good benefits- for workers of 20hrs/week or more. at least they used to when my dh worked there a few years ago. they were cheap, good choices, and generous on who/what they covered....

Starbucks and Caribou Coffee both are excellent. I know a few people who work at Starbucks. I have looked into both. They both give benefits for part-time as well as full-time. They treat their employees really well. B.
