My bathtub is in OK condition but it's old that it's not shiny anymore. I've heard of bathtub refinishing but don't know much about it.
Have any of you had this done to your bathtub? How where the results? Does it last? Could you recommend me somebody that will do a good job?
Thanks!

Hi E., just did it in May, I am so happy. That was my problem couldn't get to shine again, but boy does it ever now. Suppose to last at least 10 years. Great Job, they were very personable, didn't leave a mess.

When I bought my house ten years ago I used Rub a Dub Tub. They basically sand blasted the tub and refinished it. It's till great. And I thought the price was reasonable. Less than three hundred dollars, as I remember.

we've used Arlington refinishing, I don't have their phone number handy, but you could look up their website,

it really makes the tub look like new, plan to do it before a vacation because it needs a week or so to cure

If you're lucky and get a "good job" done, it can last a few years. You could buy a brand new tub on sale at Home Depot or Menard type stores for $100.00-150.00. They install so no problem for 20 or so more years.

I had it done and it was cheap and looked good. A new bathtub installation would have required us to install new tile, faucets, knobs etc...because our old tub is an original deep steel tub from 100 years ago. So refinishing was our best option. The drawbacks were the fumes when it was drying and the fact that one time I forgot to tell a plumber that the tub was refinished and he nicked it in several places with his tools. If you have it done, you have to remember that it will chip if metal tools hit it and you can't hang a rubber bath mat over it because it will mar the finish. You're not supposed to use comet type cleanser with it either, but I do, but I use lots of water with it.
