I am looking for somewhere around the garland, rowlett, mesquite area (or southwest fortworth) to have my daughters 1st birthday cake made.
Cakes by George (in the book as Donuts by George) is the best place I've found in Dallas for cakes. Everyone in my family has used them for years for birthdays and showers. My husband who isn't really a big 'cake fan' even loves their cakes. If you're looking for quanity over quality, Sams Club's cakes are good and very inexpensive. However, the best is still George's by far!
Art Bakery in the old Target shopping center at Jupiter and Beltline makes beautiful cakes and they are very reasonably priced.
I suggest Casa Linda Bakery. They have the best cake. I had my wedding cake made there.
Kim's Kreations will deliver and is affordable! She makes her own icing and everything, probably the best cake I have had in years! Her contact is ###-###-#### or ____@____.com. I just had her make my daughter's 1st birday cake and it was beautiful! Kim even iced a small "smash cake" for my daughter to destroy that matched the larger cake.
We are using Cakes by Sandy. She is in the Garland/Richardson area. She did my nephew's 1st birthday cake and is doing my daughter's.
Is there a Central Market in the area? They make really good cakes and they are affordable. They even decorated one to match my friend's baby's invitation. It was really cute. I've also used Casa Linda Bakery and thought it was good.

There is a WONDERFUL bakery in Garland called Cakes By George. I do all my special events there - showers, birthdays..etc. I don't know the number because it's been a while since I used them, but that's the best I've tasted and seen. They not only taste amazing, but they're beautiful.
