My regular OB (Suzanne Bovone) is on maternity leave and I don't care too much for what I am left with in her office. Can anyone recommend a good OB-GYN? I am newly pregnant and want to have my baby at Good Samaritan.
Thank you everybody! I am definitely going to check out Los Olivos! I think I'll call Dr. Silverman since I have heard of him before.
I really appreciate all of your responses!

Just had my second baby at Good Sam with my WONDERFUL OB Dr. Martin Silverman of Los Olivos Womens Medical Group. He is so gentle and kind and not a jerk at all. I wasn't used to a male doctor at first but he delivered both kids and he couldn't have a better bedside manner. He listens to what I have to say and actually has a sense of humor! My sister and I have referred so many moms to him because he's such a wonderful doctor. VERY nice man!! ###-###-#### and dial 0 for the operator to transfer you to his office to make an appointment. Their office is on 15151 National Ave in Los Gatos right next to Good Sam. Tell him J. Sampson sent you and he'll laugh. Good Luck!

Hi J.,
I loved my OB-GYN she was very detailed and since I was considered a higher risk preg, at the age of 35 and having had 1 miscarriage and being that I had Fibroid tumors as well she was very consistant with monitoring me gave me options and was very honest with me. She also has another dr in there that is good as well but I saw "Zena Levine"

Hi J.,
Congrats on your 3rd child! Wish you nothing but the best!
I highly recommend my OB/GYN. Her name is Dr. Karen Kunzel is she is a part of the Los Olivos Womens Group in Los Gatos, across the street from Good Sam.
She delivered my daughter 2 years ago and I've been seeing her for about 7 years now. She's awesome. Very experienced, personable and values your opinion; especially during pregnancy.
God Bless,
M. L

I love Los Olivos Women's Medical Group in Los Gatos right by Good Sam. If you prefer a touchy feely type doctor- more of a listener and sentimental caregiver, I would suggest Dr. Marty Silverman. I personally prefer a more medical, cut to the chase kind of doctor and therefore I saw Dr. Karen Kunzel. I have many friends who use them and they all love whichever they have chosen.

Dr. Vicki Duncan has delivered both of my boys at Good Sam. Her practice is across the street from Good Sam at 14601 S. Bascom Ave, Suite 230, Los Gatos 95032. ###-###-####. I adore her. She has a great sense of humor, but is also a no-nonsense woman who is decisive and would be a leader in an emergency situation (which I hope you never have to be in - but she would be the right woman to have on your team). She is a relatively recent survivor of breast cancer, which I think has helped her become a more empathetic and very cautious doctor. I know several of the Labor and Delivery nurses at Good Sam, and they all have positive things to say about working with her.
I have heard great things about Dr. Imig from friends, and you will no doubt be hearing her name, as well. I know she has a very busy practice and have had friends tell me that you may be kept waiting at your appointment (don't know how accurate that is, but thought I'd share). If you don't mind waiting, she may be a good option for you, as well. I work full-time and usually schedule my appointments during my lunch hour, so I need to get in and out pretty quickly, which Dr. Duncan is great about (I have had the rare reschedule when she is delivering, but the staff is good about letting you know ASAP and rescheduling your appointment).
Dr. Duncan owns the practice by herself, and now has a nurse practitioner to help with her patient load, but the office is calm without doctors and patients flying all over the place. I have had two wonderful pregnancies and deliveries with her.
I know you will be getting lots of great suggestions for doctors. Good luck with your decision and congratulations with your pregnancy!

Congratulations! I am newly pregnant as well and just started seeing a new OB-GYN, with the intention of also having my baby at Good Samaritan. I am seeing Dr. Suarez. Here is their website . . . http://www.lomavistaobgyn.com.
It is the Loma Vista Obstetrics and Gynecology Medical Group, their address and phone number are available on the website. So far I can honestly say I feel comfortable and confident with her care. Everyone, especially her designated nurse, are very helpful and friendly. I would call and see if they have a contract with your insurance. I went in my first appointment with the intention of deciding if she was the right one for me, because I think it's very important to feel comfortable with your doctor through your pregnancy. Good luck with your search!

Go to Dr. Susan Gould. She is in the medical offices next to Good Sam. I LOVE her! I refered my friend to her, she also loves her. My friend is newly pregnant and found out that she delivers I believe 80% of her patients (that is rare now a days). Call to see if she is taking new patients. I don't have her phone number but you can look her up on line. She is apart of the Loma Vista OBGYN group.

Hi J.,
Los Olivos Women/s Medical Group on National Ave is by good Sam Hospital. ###-###-####?
I not only worked for them for about 5 years, I was also a patient. Dr. Majors delivered my son who is now six. I had to switch to Kaiser insurance or still would be with them. Ask for nurse Patty Carr and let her know R. Kane sent you, she can help you find a doctor ( male or female) that may be a fit with you.
Best of everything,

Steven Batanidies is a great OB/GYN. He is a good listener, experienced. I had a high risk pregnancy, surprise first, at age 44, with 2 adopted toddlers at home, (plus I had to postpone a procedure, made the pregnancy all the more at risk-PSVT-racing heartbeat). C-section- she's beautiful. Paps and examinations fast & painless (not like my primary Dr).
Mom of 3 all 12 1/2 months apart.

I know I'm coming in late on this one, but you've got some great recommendations. I recommend Dr. Michael Contro (he delivered my twins). He is WONDERFUL and his office staff is the best. I also recommend Dr. Susan Gould (she delivered my daugther). I had to stop going to her because I had 2 m/c after my daugther and went to Dr. Contro (he's an RE also).
You can't go wrong with either one of them!!

Dr. Steven Belton is a great OB/GYN. He is located right accross the street from Good Sam Hospital. I was referred to him after my OB/GYN retired. He did not deliver any of my 3 children, but has helped me deal with a lot of female issues that I unfortunately have had to deal with in the last 2 years. The front office seems all business, but Dr. Belton is kind, gentle and has a very positive spirit! His nurse is the same way. He will also see you for cold and flu symptoms too. Best of luck!

Hi J.,
Dr. Zena Levine. She's great. She has a private practice right near the hospital and works closely w/ her nurse, Maria, who is also so wonderful. I've been going to her for several years, and she just delivered my (first) baby at Good Sam in May. She's very, very thorough and informative, and (she and Maria both) answered all of my many questions for each and every check up (considering this was my first pregnancy I had a lot). All of my phone calls, too, were promptly returned. Everyone in her office is nice, and so professional. She also has a website if you'd like to check it out http://www.zenalevine.com. She comes highly recommended. Good luck!

Try Vicki Duncan. I went to her for my second child. She is not warm and fuzzy but will tell it like it is to you. She was great for me. I went to her for my first visit when I was pg and there was no heart beat. So our first introduction was not a good time for either of us. She came in on her day off to give me a D and C so I didn't have to go the whole weekend. She was great and very caring just not warm and fuzzy.
