Seeking an Electric Guitar Instructor for My Son

I live in Commerce and am looking for a private music instructor to teach my son either electric guitar or drums. I don't think that he has made his mind up as to what he would like to play. I know that his school will eventually have a music program, but he is interested now. If anyone knows of a reasonable private instructor, that would be great. Also, I have a guitar available, but not drums. So, preferably they would have equipment available. Thanks for helping if you can.

What can I do next?

So sorry this is response is late but I had some computer issues. I have some information for you and I also live in Commerce. My husband has a business associate who has his own music shop. They buy and sell used musical equipment and offer lessons. Here is the information:

Music Go Round - Thomas Donovan (owner) - Downtown Farmington - ###-###-####

Hope this helps you, he is a nice guy and very good at what he does.

Marshall Music on Haggerty & 14 Mile Rd. has private instruction by the half hour. You'll have to ask about the drums. He's going to need something to practice on at home, so ask them what they do in the case of drum lessons.

I would try calling Milford Muisic, they are not that far from you and if you could not make it out to thier location they probably do have someone who could come to you. I am pretty sure they rent equipment too.

Often, music stores where they sell musical instruments will also offer private lessons. Marshall Music is one and they furnish the area school with instruments and service. Their store down in Allen Park is big, they have all sorts of instruments and lessons.
Also, there's a school or academy in Detroit for like after school. Run by a professional band member and they not only give some good lessons, but rather fast too and the students have even played on stage within hours of learning the basics. I saw it on Fox News a few weeks ago. You might want to go to their website myfoxdetroit.com and email them for the info.
