My son is almost 11 months old. I've been trying to introduce more finger foods to him, but so far, all I can think of that he won't choke on is banana bits, white toast, cheese, graham cracker bits, and gerber fruit/veggie snacks. I'm trying to get a list of more finger foods I can give him. He is starting to get mad when I feed him the Gerber 3rds, he wants to do it himself. I want to be able to give him a variety of foods. He's only got 6 teeth, the front four top and the bottom front two. I've tried, some meats, but he just can't seem to break it down. Don't know if I'm giving him too big peices, or need to cook it more. Any Ideas?

I had the same difficulties with my little girl (she has 7 teeth). She loves blueberries, watermelon, tomatoes, noodles. Also meet that is in a slow cooker really is tender and she is able to chew those quite well.
My son is 17 months, and when he was 11 months he ate pretty much we we did, as long as it was small and soft. I started him on meat when he was about 7 or 8 months, and would grind it up with a baby food grinder, that way he was used to the taste of the meat that we eat (chicken, pork, beef, etc.). I also found that mixing his vegi's into his pasta sauce was an easy way to add nutition to his meals.
I never bought baby foods, just ground or mashed what we were eating, so as his ability to chew got better, he was used to the flavors of adult foods.
A book I found really helpful was Super Baby Foods. She has recipes and lots of ideas for month to month additions to their diets.
Best of luck!

Hello my son has the same six teeth that your son does.
For breakfast we have Cream of Wheat and then he gets to feed himself strawberries or bannans. For lunch He likes steamed zuchini and crackers, A.'s Mac'n'Cheese white cheddar and shells with frozen cooked peas mixed in, and cut up bread and cheese with frozen solid mixed veggies. For dinner hotdish, steak cut into pea sized bits with mashed potatoes, and about any thing we are having. We also have a large bowl of fruit sitting on the table for snacks. He will get hungery and point at the bowl and we let him pick a fruit. He loves apples and will chew on a slice for a very long time. Other fruits he like are peaches, kiwi, oranges, and pears. Hope this is helpful, I know how hard it can be trying to offer chewable healthy foods.
Try can veggies such as cut green beans, corn, carrots etc.
Just heat them up in the microwave. Also try (Knorr Lipton) side dishes like Alfredo noodles, chicken flavored noodles etc you can find them in the rice isle where the mac & cheese stuff is. Fruits, strawberries, canteloupe, watermelon, mandarin oranges, grapes(pealed and cut up), all beef hot dogs cut up real small. There is all kinds of foods you can do....Just next time at the grocery store, walk down each isle and really look at the foods, that's what I did.
Canned ravioli cut up small, marshmellows, It's just a natural thing to start chewing, he'll get the hang of it just like he is now mushing it up.
Good luck hope that helps.
