Hi B.!! At one time I too pierced my tongue, but it took about 3-4yrs. before I took it out. The reason I took it out was the same problem that your having. Frist my tongue was hurting then the gums towards the front plus one of the bottom teeth was loose. So what I did of course was to take the piercing out for good. Right away saw my dentist. What he told me was that people that pierced their tongues the gum does get thin also if you don't take care of it you get an infection. In my case the gum was thinning out. I your case if u just got your tongue pierced you might have an infection. use warm water and salt and rinse your mouth out. and I hate to say this, but you may have to keep your piercing out for good. I dont know any cheep dentist. But you do need to see a dentist right away before it gets worst.

Do you have a Dr. you can see? A Dr. might be less expensive than a dentist, depends. You might have an infecton and need antibiotics. I hope you are not going to have it put back in after you are better. You can do some serious damage w/ piercings. Good luck!

Hey there B.. I had my tongue pierced several (10) years ago. I chippped every molar. I took it out when I got a customer service job on the phone, six years ago. I do not remember my mouth hurting, just my tongue, for a few days in fact. Try Listerine. If you have been in pain for more than a week, I'd say you might have an infection. Best of luck. J.
