My vet is Savage Tower Animal Hospital. They are great. It is on the corner of 42 and Dakota Ave (I think) across the street from Cals and Life Time Fitness. The phone number is ###-###-####.
Can anyone recommend a veterinarian in Prior Lake? I just got a new puppy, it's a yellow lab, he is 2 months old. I need to take him to the vet and I don't know any pet clinics nearby. I would like to find a good vet/pet clinic where I could take my puppy right now and in the future. Also, it would be nice to find a nearby emergency pet clinic. I would like to hear moms' recommendations.
Thanks everybody for your responses! I especially liked the Smith vet clinic suggestion, because they are specifically in the lab business.
What actually happenned is my puppy got stressed in the last couple of days, I think because of the change in the environment, and refused to eat, so I had to take him to the vet ASAP. I ended up going to the Prior Lake Pet clinic, which I accidentally found on the internet (http://www.plph.net/), and which is the closest to our house. The puppy is doing better now and I hope will get well very soon. I will check out some other suggested clinics in the future, just for conparison, but I liked the Prior Lake one too. Thanks again for your help!

Helene,
Check out petsmart...they have wonderful clinics. We have two cats and we send them to petsmart for all of their care. You can set up a monthly plan where you pay a fee per month and it covers, exams, shots, getting fixed, etc. You might have to pay a little bit of money, but it sure has saved us thousands of dollars. they do also have emergency vets and they send out reminders for their visits and call to check up with the pet the next day after each visit. I have no complaints thus far and our cats are 4 years old. In the past we had dogs and we sent them their as well and they too were wonderful with our dogs...sometimes they even came home a little bandana. Good luck!
Scott Lake is a wonderful vet clinic right in Prior Lake. I've had my pets seen there and my mother has also taken her cats there. The vet we saw is very kind and knowledgable. He takes his time when examining the animals, so you really feel like he is being thourough and cares about them. We have since moved, so have not been there in the last year, but my mother still goes there and says it is "highly recommended".
I would highly recommend Pet Crossing Clinic in West Bloomington, it is just off 169, not too from Prior Lake. Their website is www.petcrossing.com. They are more pricey then Petsmart's clinics. It has great staff and a wonderful facilty with a great kids area. They even have viewing rooms if you want to watch your pet when they have surgery. We have 2 little dogs that go to Pet Crossing and we love it.
Congrats on your puppy - how fun! Enjoy every moment!
You might want to try Cleary Lake Equine and Small Animal Hospital in Prior Lake - they are AMAZING!!! Trust me, I've been to many vets with our million dollar kitty and million dollar dog. They are extremely knowledgeable and caring. Ask for Dr. Ann Korbel.
There's an emergency clinic in Apple Valley.
