Seeking a Toddler (Child) Friendly Pediatrician

Need your recommendation on a great (smart and quick on his/her feet) pediatrician who can be goofy, silly, basically toddler/child friendly to make doctor's appointments more at ease for my toddler son. He hates the doctor's office. The original one I chose for him at birth has retired and his current one does not talk to him or have much personal experience w/kids. I would like one close to where I live. Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thank you everyone who offered advice. I've switched pedi and she has a lot of years behind her. She is more child friendly. Unfortunately, my son recognizes doctor's offices and acts so traumatized each time we go. He cries and cries until we are out the door, which is sooo hard on me. Thanks!

Hello

I absolutely love my doctor--- my friend and my husband switched to her and I switched my children to her as well. She is off of 1960 and Champions Forest, right behind Ben and Jerry's. Her name is Tina Corkran and she is with Capstone Family Practice. The number is ###-###-####. To be honest, I was starting to question my move to Houston in December because I was so stressed from everything and I had several things go wrong. Well I went to see her because I had been sick with a terrible cold for about two months at that point, something that my doctors in NC weren't able to cure. Not only did she make the cold symptoms go away within a few days with the right prescription for once, but her "bedside manner" is amazing. She stays in the room with you as long as you want, talking about any and all concerns you may have. And as far as the girls go, I have had to call her at night and on the weekends and she sat and talked with me for about 30 minutes one time to alleviate all fears and put me at ease. When we are in the room, I have to take both my 6 month old and my 20 month old, and she just takes the 20 month old all around, blowing rasberries on her tummy and making her laugh. My daughter loves her! Totally child friendly!! I totally recommend her 100%.

Hope this helps

I live off of 290 and Barker-Cypress and travel to the Memorial City area for our pediatrician --- he's that great!

His name is Dr. Pielop. His number is ###-###-####. He is in the new professional building at Gessner and I-10. He is absolutely wonderful. I truly cannot say enough about him. We have a lot of health issues with one of my children, so we have a strong relationship with him.

I found him through word of mouth. Several of my friends have switched to him also.
