Hi I live in dallas south of 635. I am going through a difficult time right now with my two children ages 7 and 5. One is ADD possibly Aspergers and the other also has lots of issues. My husband and I have been doing the best we can with the help available from therapists for the kids but I am now not doing too well. I feel burnt out and emotionally just off kilter. There is a new school year starting and with it new problems and I am terrified for the first time in my life that I cannot go through this without support for myself. I am a stay at home mom....DH helps out as much as he can but its been an extrememly difficult 5 years. We have no family in the area.
I am looking for a therapist who can work with me to figure out how to take some proactive steps to move forward and gain back my confidence and self esteem as a woman and a mother. It would help if this therapist has some ideas or has worked with families from multicultural backrounds. I also don't want to drive too far so lookign for someone who is in the Dallas/Richardson/Plano area.
Thank you in advance!

Hi A.-
I think counseling is a good idea, however I noticed you mentioned one of your children has Asperger's. I am treating this and having absolutely amazing results. I use nutrition response testing and rid the body of heavy metals the autism/ADD/ADHD/asperger's practically clears up in 1-2 weeks. Its incredible. You need to check it out. Call us and talk to my front desk about it. ###-###-####.
Thanks and good luck.

Lifeworks Counseling Center in Carrollton Texas has several therapists to select from. Excellent group of people from what I've seen. They have a web site that gives background information on each of the therapists. google them and I think you will find their site helpful.
School does not have to be problematic for you or your children. Great Lakes Academy, a private school in Plano, offers a great program for students with Asperger's and ADD. They specifically design an individualized gap plan for every student and work on social skills, organization skills, and coping skills. They can help cut back on a lot of the unnecessary stress that comes with the public school system.

Hi,
I am so sorry to hear you are going through tough times. Unfortunately we all do at one time or another. It just feels so horrible when you are in the throws of it. Please know that with help and patience you can come out of it! I see a lady by the name of Anne Schantz who has been an angel for myself and my family. I have seen her for many types of issues over the last almost 14 years. Her number is ###-###-####. She is located next to the Galleria area. She takes several insurance plans. She has been counseling for years and is a Ph.D. Good luck!

Sorry to hear what you're going through. My mother is a therapist but works in Utah. My oldest brother had asperger's and my mom changed his diet dramatically and it went away. He is completely normal now. If you're interested, it will take a lot of work and dedication, but is well worth it. Let me know and I'll get you in contact with my mom as she could advise which books to read and so on. Good luck. God bless,
J.
Candace Hyman is fantastic. Her office is located just south of Northwest Highway and just east of the Dallas North Tollway. I don't have her number on me but I think you could google her if you want.
Congratulations on taking this first step to feel better! My mom finally had to get me to call for an appointment, and now, a year later, I feel like a whole new person. I hope you have the same experience!
The Meier Clinic has great counsellors and is located in Richardson at Hwy 75 and Campbell. I went to Ann Marie Bowen for about a year and she helped me tremendously with my issues. You can go to their website, choose Richardson, Tx and read all their bios. It was pretty helpful when I found Ann Marie. You are doing something good for your family and your self by seeking counselling. I'm a different person since going. Good luck!
