Playroom in Sherman Oaks (at Ventura and Beverly Glen) is great. They keep it immaculate, and it is for 5 and under only so you don't have any older kids running around. I highly recommend it.
I am looking for a play group or fun places to take my son to play and release all his energy. I'm pretty new to the area and would love to hear of anything that would be entertaining to my toddler. We live in an apartment so his options are limited. He loves to be out and about. Anything would be helpful. Thank you all in advance!!!

Check out www.EducationAndEnrichment.com, there is a whole bunch of ideas on places to go tand things to do in the area. Go under Enrichment and select Places To Go and many different ideas will come up. It's a great resource!
Check out Van Nuys/Sherman Oaks Park at Huston and Hazeltine, just north of the Sherman Oaks Fashion Square.
Check out My Gym in Encino (on Ventura Blvd). They're great. They may have another location in Sherman Oaks also. And you can check out Under The Sea but I don't know their location.
You can also take him to the park near Balboa and Ventura - it has a great little kid's section and he can play in the sand and run on the grass or go to the big park on Balboa between Burbank and Victory. They have swings for little kids, duck pond, etc.
Hi J. - I am new to the Studio City area as well so I completely understand. Yesterday I took my son to Gymboree in Sherman Oaks for the 1st time and he LOVED it!!! It is also a great way to meet other parents in your area. I was so excited by how much he liked it that I signed us up for 12 weeks. We will be going to the Wednesday ____@____.com, there were lots of 14 month olds in that class. Hope to see you there.

Hi J.; Sherman Oaks is five minutes from Tarzana where Temple Judea has a non sectarian Parenting Center with classes for your son in age compatable groups. I would love to invite you both in as our guest for a class and show you how he can make friends as well as you, where he can learn in appropriate activities and grow with his peers.
Give me a call at Temple Judea, ###-###-#### and we can set up a time for you to spend a morning with us in class.
I look forward to hearing from you,

Tuesday and Thursday morning from 10-12 in Glendale at the Pacific Community Center, right there attached to the library, they have what is called Tot time. It is great. It is free. They open the gym and put out lots of toys. The kids have a blast.
Tuesdays at the Americana in Glendale from 11-1 they have a variety of things that they put on for kids, go to their website.
Tuesdays 3-5 at St Joseph Hospital in Burbank is a tot class 1-2 yr old. We play a bit then have discussions while the kids play. $8 donation...call the Babywise office there and find what other classes they have.
Under the Sea on Buena Vista in Burbank is a fun place to let them loose and climb and play on all of the toys there.
The Verduga Park at Buena Vista and Verdugo is a great enclosed park.
The Buena Vista Library has storytime Wed and Fri 10 and 11. You have to sign up...it is free though.
The Burbank rec center has great classes for kids, not expensive at all. Check out their website.
Join a mom's club in your area and you will find play groups to join.
Hope that helps...

Hi J.,
I, too, live in Sherman Oaks and have a 13 month old son with tons of energy. There's a place called the Coop in Studio City that is very cool for mom and baby. I take a few classes with my son at Mothers Haven on Ventura in Encino. He loves Kindermusik there and we're starting Sign language there in a few weeks. Its a great place because they try and match your child with others the same age. We do Kindermusik on Fridays at 11:30 in case you're interested, since our boys are almost the same age. There is also Stroller Strides that takes place at the park at Hazeltine and Riverside, next to the Trader Joes.
Hope this helps.
