I have a friend and her husband coming to Arizona to visit for the first time. She said they plan on visiting Sedona and Tombstone. I personally haven't spent much time in Sedona and have never been to Tombstone. If you know of a must see or do for either of these two places I'd love to hear from you.

What can I do next?

This isn't going to be very helpful but my finance took me there (Sedona) back in March for the first time, I had never been. We spent 3 days. We LOVED this funky restaraunt that had an alien theme, I know weird...but they had the best food...it's on one of the main drags and is easy to spot if you are looking for it. It looks like a 50's diner, same kind of food, but with the alien theme. No ideas about Tombstone since neither of us have been there but I have heard that it is a tourist trap and very expensive. Hope they have fun and enjoy our beautiful state! F. www.agentlady.com

Hi T.,
There are so many fun things to do in Sedona. This is what we did with my 20 mo. old:
Wildlife World Zoo-Tiger Splash is just about 15 minutes away. Had a great time, I'm sure even better in cooler months.
Rented a jeep at Larabees and went jeeping. Cheaper than Pink Jeep Tours. We did all the trails and had sooo much fun. My daughter loved it. (Quick Note: No babies-toddlers over 18 mos. is what was recommended due to the bouncing action-We took it very easy & slow so use caution). We would stop at scenic points or trails and let her walk around and hike. It was awesome and a great way to see the outback of Sedona.
Slide Rock Park-Great in the summer not so sure in the fall and winter? A nature made water park.
Fishing at Rainbow Trout Farms....great for the kids.
Hiked down Oak Creek Canyon....so much fun. You might need a hiking carrier for your little one. Although you can let him walk and just take your time making your way down to the creek.
Tlaquepaque Shopping Village-lots of shops and restaurants all in one place. Love the brewery and the little sandwich shop right next to it. Great for your little one to walk around. Beautiful fountains and courtyards and very neat architecture. Don't forget to go to the shop with all the windchimes....by the backwall is a view of the creek.
Just a few ideas! I have pics if you'd like to see some of the places I have mentioned. Be careful minded and have fun!!!!

Hi T.,

Sedona is beautiful!!!! There is a lot to do there as far as shopping and sight seeing. Look up things to do in Sedona...my husband and I love to go there for our anniversary. The last time we were there we went on a Pink Jeep tour...highly recommend it and well worth every penny. The Red Rocks are gorgeous. Lots of shops too. Restaurants are awesome as well.

Tombstone...I haven't been since I was a kid but I remember it being a neat place because history was made there. There is the Tucson zoo which I have heard is better than the Phoenix Zoo and also Kartchner Caverns which I have heard is a must see as well.

Have fun!!

Hi T.,
My family and I just moved here in January, we wanted to go and do everything. Between the two, they are totally different places. Tombstone was very interesting, it was alot of fun. The only thing was I really couldn't read alot of the history because I have 2 kids 9 and 2. So it was very difficult to take it all in, but the kids had alot of fun watching all the shows and seeing all the people walk around like they were stuck in a different time zone. They wore the whole nine yards. It was very cool. Just be sure and check the weather you would think it is Hot down there because you are not 20 minutes from Mexico, but it is very high elevation, so it was very chilly. We went in March of last year. We also took a drive about 10 minutes south to see the ruins of a village and hike, we never really saw the village, but it was fun to get out and see the area. Now Sedona a very bueatiful part of this country. If you go there you have to visit the Chapel of the Holy Cross. It is built in to the side of a mountain. It is very neat. Also you have south of Sedona is Montezuma Castle State Park which is a castle in the side of the mountain. You cant walk right up to it anymore because people were messing it up, but you can still see it. Slide Rock is neat which is kinda for the hot weather and then you have the Oak Creek Canyon that you can drive through and get out and walk around. So another word both places are great, it is just all in what kinda of thing you would want to do. Have fun and good Luck!

On the way up to Sedona, hit the Montezuma's Castle - a cliff dwelling. It's a short drive from the highway and it doesn't take a lot of time to see. There is a fee to get in, don't remember how much. But, it's pretty cool. Sedona is georgeous. We like to have lunch at the Tlaquepaque shopping center, neat place to take pictures too with the tile stairs etc. Lots of neat little hikes to do in Sedona. Tombstone is less scenery and more history and wetern wear shopping. So, take your pick. I prefer Sedona - nothing looks quite like it. Have fun !
