Your safest option may be to add an outlet high on the wall so there is no cord hanging over the crib. Generally not terribly expensive to do if you have drywall (gets pricey if you have real old fashioned plaster).
For those of you who have your video monitor camera mounted over baby's crib, how do you secure the hanging cord so that it cannot be pulled into the crib by the baby? The outlet is directly below it...

the ones in the middle are th ones I would use.
We run the cords down from the outlet, along the baseboard until out of reach, then back up the wall to where the camera is mounted. They don't need to be right above the crib and you usually get a better picture if you are off to the side a bit. That way you can see all of the crib ay once. Good luck!
Sorry ladies just do not understand the need for video camera above crib.
Had four kids, 3,2,1 and newborn. When they went to bed I needed the rest. Did not need to sit and watch them. Mamas need breaks from little ones. Their crib is a safe place.
We used white clips that you nail in the wall but they do lots of damagr when hou remove them. Or just move the crib out of hands reach. Good luck.
