Hello all... I'm new to Fort Collins and am searching for my new OB/GYN. I am going to have another baby in the future so need one who is willing to listen to lots of questions, take time with me, respects a breastfeeding, cloth diapering, co-sleeping mama. I also don't really want a wallflower. I'm pretty confident myself, so I'm looking for someone who won't wilt but also someone who sees her patients with compassion and caring. I'd probably also prefer it if she were a mother also... a lot to ask, but any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!!

So What Happened?

Hi there, I have but I had a complicated pregnancy with my first child (preterm labor, bedrest, emergancy c-section) so I would rather go with a doctor. I think I would have loved a midwife the first time if everything hadn't been so nuts!

I recommend Womancare. It is a Midwifery practice. They are all certified, they work with you, talk with you, get to know you, and they are very woman centered. They also delever at the hospital. If you've had never looked into midwifery before, I strongly suggest it.

P.,
Dr. Susie Klingner with Associates in Family Medicine is FABULOUS. I believe she is probably their most requested Doc. She has been my practicioner for about 10 years and now cares for both of my boys as well. I believe she fits everything you request, and has 2 young children of her own, teaches breastfeeding classes for a local group and is very confident and direct. I'm not sure how many new patients she's accepting, but I strongly recommend her ###-###-####).

I totally recommend Dr Micetich @ the Ft Collins Womens Clinic off of Harmony. She listens to you and is a great Doc. I had 3 miscarriages in the past and just had my first daughter 4 months ago and most of my past docs looked at me as a child during my miscarriages even though they were planned pregnancies and I was married, Dr Micetich did not. She is WONDERFUL!

Hi P.! I used the midwives at the Fort Collins Womens Clinic when I was pregnant. They are awesome and I highly reccomend them. My husband and I thought it was extremely important to labor without drugs and they were very supportive and helped us accomplish our goals. We had a great experience. Email me back if you have any more questions about them. C.

I just read your response to "so what happened?" and just wanted to tell you that there are about 12 OB/GYNs that are a part of that practice.

P.,

Have you considered seeing a midwife for your prenatal care and birth? The type of relationship you desire would be most available with a midwife. In Colorado, you have several options for midwifery care. You could have your baby in the hospital with a Nurse-Midwife. You could have your baby in the state's only free-standing birth center in Englewood with a Nurse-Midwife. Or, you could birth at home with a Certified Professional Midwife.

Feel free to contact me if you would like referrals.
