So, Ive only been to sea world once when I was about 4, so I have NO clue what all they have to offer. But I just booked our trip for July, kids will be 3, 4 , and a new born. We will be in one room, my mother and her 2 kids both 8, will have another room, and my sister andher girlfriend and her GF's daughter who will be 1 in another room. So, the passes include a yearly pass. We will be down there from Friday leaving Monday.
So, is there that much to do there to where we can go on both days?
I also wanted to go to teh River Walk, I heard alot about that, What are some other things to do in SA.
Also, i didnt book alot of "add ons" because this was our first time going and they kids are young, adn since we are gtting the yearly pass, we will be going back before the year mark for sure. So, What is all included in the tickets? All the shows? rides? I seen the parking was so thats good.
I know it will be Hella Hot, so we will dress comfy with summer clothes for sure, can we bring our wagon with our bags with like, extra clothes, and swim wear?
I am just assuming its kind of like six flags, except more of a water park theme, right???
My kids are really excited seeing as how this is our "first" vacation, other then local water parks, 6 flags, adn going to New Orleans twice a year..
Im excited to lol

So What Happened?

Thanks Everyone for the advice, BTW... We are taking 3 cars. My family in one, my mom and sibs in another, and my sis and her gf in another, so that wont be an issue, also, lol, I think it will be opposite... My kids are used to giong out, and my sibs are not, when we go to places like the zoo, or even to walk around the mall, they are the ones who cant take it, (extremely lazy) my kids run off duracel must be lol. And we are from Dallas, so no strangers to heat, and my husband is from New Orleans... So we are straight 105 degrees and up all summer long, so that wont be an issue, I do like the spray bottle idea, ill bring a couple, plus spray fans. Thanks Everyone, Im so excited, and my kids keep asking when we are going so no turning back lol. Me and my family might end up staying another night, because I am off on mondays, or we might to austin seing as how I have friends there, so I might have to hit up some caves also, good idea.

Personally, I would skip the River Walk on this trip - take that in when you go back later. I went to Sea World last summer with an 8 and 3 year old. It's a little harder with the wide range in age groups - the things my 3 year old could do/wanted to do were a little boring for my 8 year old. The things my 8 year old wanted to do - my 3 year old could not do at all. So, we went in the mornings and stayed until about 2. In that time, we did mostly the things that my three year old could do. Then, we went back to the hotel and napped and played in the pool until much later - 6/7pm. Then, we went back and I let my son ride all the roller coasters that he wanted to ride. My 3 year old and I just walked the park and waited on him. Luckily for us - in the late evening, the park was not crowded, so he was able to get on and off rides fairly quickly.

You guys are probably going to want to split up and have someone go off with the 8 year olds and then stay in the play area for little kids with the younger kids. I honestly recommend taking two cars because you may want to go back to the hotel with the little ones while the bigger kids stay. However, you could all go back and the bigger kids could play in the pool.

Good luck!

Sea World is NOT like Six Flags at all. It is mostly about the marine life. There are some rides but none that will suit your young children. But they do have an all-new waterpark opening called Aquatica so make sure the passes you bought cover that. It has beaches, sand and everything! Visit their website and get familiar with everything they have to offer, http://seaworldparks.com/en/seaworld-sanantonio/.

It is a lot of fun and there is a lot to see. Because your children are young and because you're going when it will be very hot, I suggest taking your time and spreading out your visit over a couple of days. Spend 3-4 hours watching shows and visiting exhibits (obviously the orca show!), then hit the waterpark for a couple of hours. So definitely bring the sunscreen and bathing suits. Do that for a couple of days and you should be good and everyone will enjoy themselves. Then go to the Riverwalk in the evening. I love Riverwalk it is so pretty, but it will get crowded in the evenings but the heat will be more bearable. And the sidewalks are narrow so hopefully you're not bringing a double-wide stroller because that won't work. There are a bunch of shops and restaurants, The best thing to do is one of the river cruises, they are very relaxing and the kids will enjoy it. There is also a Ripley's Believe It or Not and a couple of other attractions of that type within walking distance (near the Alamo).

I took my grand kids last summer we had so much fun that the heat did not bother us and when it did there is a water park to go swim in. There is so much to see and do at Sea World alone that it took a full 2 days just to see it all then we went back a third to see the ones we liked the most. We also took the third day just to hang out at the the pools. Look up San Antonio and you will find so much to do. We stopped along the drive down there to see some caves and other sights it was a blast but we had a full week to do it. My girls were older so they were able to handle the full week of adventures. Enjoy your trip

We are doing Sea World June 1st, and I do agree it will be hot when you go for sure. Our hotel said it is in the 90's by the end of may! Sea World does have a lot of places to cool off, so that is good, but also this year the new water park, Aquatica opens, so that could be a day trip. Check it out on the Sea World web site. Have fun, and stay cool!

You will LOVE San Antonio! Sooooo family friendly and such a pretty city. We took our kids there over spring break a few years ago and they asked if we could move there. :)

SeaWorld is a full day. You will need extra money to feed the sea lions, but all of the shows are included. Since you will be there in July, you may want to get to the shows early so you can be in the "splash zone" and cool off! (Just watch your camera and phone. Ziplocs!)

Our kids were older, so I'm not sure, but I think I remember seeing people with wagons there. If not, I'm sure they have strollers to rent. I would recommend a spray bottle with water to mist yourself in the heat.

You should also check out the Market. In the evening, there is music and dancing everywhere. Very fun to people watch. Good food there, too.

The RiverWalk is great- take the boat ride, the kids will love it. Finally, stop at the Alamo. It's right there by the Riverwalk and it's free. I thought my kids would think it was boring, but they really found it interesting.

I would love to go back. Have a wonder time!

Let me just say this about Sea World in July. Don't Go. You and your too small kids for Sea World and especially the baby and 1 year old will be miserable. It is so hot because the walking paths are asphault like streets steam comes off of them. You can never be cool enough. You will have to go very early stay about 4 hours and then come home during the heat of the day. I would stay somewhere like the Courtyard Sea World that has a shuttle. I promise if you go in July you will never want to see that place again.

We went last 1th of July weekend. And it was great. It wasnt very crowded at all and yes you will need 2 days. Plenty to do. Dont listen to those people. Yes there are things for young kids. There is an entire section of rides just for the little ones as well as a water section for the little ones. The lazy river was a disapointment but not because it was crowded but because it was only waist high to adults. Its catered to kids.

My biggest suggestion is twear your swimsuites with tanks and shorts over them. Not jean material. Cause pretty much every show you go to, you are going to get wet. Jean shorts take to long to dry and are uncomfortable when wet.

We did rides in the morning and when it got hot we did the water park. Definatly buy the refillable cup. Its so worth. We have a family of 5 and we got 2 of them and shared. It was great.

I will say this-- I HATE Sea World. I LOATHE it. We went last summer, and it was miserable... so hot, SO crowded. The lazy river looked like an ant colony-- rafts all up against each other-- it was GROSS. The wave pool-- shoulder to shoulder with strangers... shirtless old men with hairy chests, little kids that you imagine are polluting the water, families of 15 partying it up. I couldn't wait to leave. The water slide line... 30-45 minutes-- if you are lucky. And bring lots of cash-- everything is expensive. We totally wasted our money... left after just a few hours. We caught 2 shows, and they were pretty entertaining, or should I say would have been, if my skin had not been melting off in a puddle before me. Awful. Worst vacation ever... and the River Walk... very nice, but also-- bring the cash! Very expensive at every turn.
