We stayed at the Hyatt Hill Country. It's a two minute drive to Sea World and their is TONS to do at the resort. The resort has a beach, lazy river, water slides for the kids etc. Their sister resort is the Hyatt Wild Oak Ranch. We have stayed there as well and really enjoyed it. The Wild Oak is condos instead of a hotel room so you get lots of additional room and a full kitchen. As for Sea World...my suggestion is to smuggle food in because the cost for food is crazy! Go early and leave in the afternoon before it gets too hot and plan out what you want to see ahead of time. The Bay of Play (Sesame Street themed water/splash area) is where we spent a bunch of time because it was so hot out. Put the kids in bathing suits and bring a change of clothes. They have a nice change area right at the splash park area. Skip Shamu show...not worth it...but see the Azul show. VERY cool! Have a nice trip!

Our trip to Sea World was awful. I wasn't going to respond but then thought maybe I should share what we did wrong to save you some headaches. First we went in August. It was soooo hot and everyone was miserable. Second, we didn't take a stroller and our 3 1/2 year old twins got really tired of walking. Third, we went on the weekend of a big event. It was so packed we couldn't walk without bumping elbows with people and the shows filled up really quickly. We didn't even get to see the whale show. Fourth, we didn't plan on having the twins take desperately needed naps. We stayed in the downtown area. We have a few good memories. I hate that we didn't plan better because it was so bad my husband refuses to ever go again. So my advice, stay close so you can go back to the room if the kids need a nap. Check the dates for big events. We were there for military appreciation or something which is great. Just wish I had known. Take a stroller!! Don't go in August. Go on weekdays if you go in the summer. The days open changes in September. I hope this helps. I really want to go back someday because I know it can be a great time. We went to Galveston before we went to San Antonio and honestly, the kids had a better time just playing on the beach and splashing in the water. It was cheaper too! :)

Stay at the Marriott Courtyard Westover Hills which is right across from Sea World and has a free shuttle. We love it! And, get the fun pass so you can go for a while, come back and swim/nap and send one parent with the older one if you need to. And, bring thermos bottles because they will give you ice water for free. There are no coolers but you can bring in single serving snacks. We take Cheez Its, grapes, etc. Definitely bring a stroller and a sun shade over it.

We loved Sea World! My advice would be to plan out what shows you would like to see, and then plan out your day at the park according to that. Our favorite is the Shamu show, and the sea lion show. If you happen to sit in the splash zone, you WILL get wet with cold salty whale water! We bought the unlimited dining wristbands for me and the hubs, and the kids just ate off our plates. We stopped a little more often, but got drinks, fruit, and dessert with our meals and as snacks. If you do smuggle in your own food, just remember they do not allow straws, so no capri-suns!

My Dad lives right near Sea World, so we have been going to Sea World each Spring Break since my boys were about 3 and 5. Here is how we do it during Spring Break - arrive at least 30 minutes before gates open - this will already have you parking a little ways out, and by the time you get your stuff together and walk to the gate it should be opening. Look up the show schedules online and decide how you want to attack your day. We usually go three days. I buy one season pass and every one else gets a "fun pass" - the Fun Pass gets them in until New year's Day. The Annual pass costs more, but gets you the free parking ($15 per day, makes it worth the increased price, but not necessary to buy more than one) and lasts a full year. Oh, and buy your passes online to avoid the lines - then you scan your printout at one of the self-service machines to get your ticket. Okay, back to how we attack the day - Each day we choose one show, one attraction, then hit the kids' area. I usually pick a show that starts right after the gates open - head straight there so you are at the front of the line to get in and get a good seat (rather than doing this later in the day when it is hotter). Take snacks in a backpack so kids can snack while you wait. Maybe take a game or book too (may be a thirty minute wait - for later shows, you may want to get there an hour before showtime for a decent seat). Then we head to see an attraction - penguins, sharks, dolphin feeding (be sure to check feeding times). Then we go to the kids' area - there is a giant pirate ship, play land tunnels like at McDonalds, climbing nets - it is huge, with multiple exits, so with your little guys you will be climbing along with them, or else they might come out another side and not find you. There is also a large sandbox area below to play in (yay, shade!). There is also a water splash area here, so be prepared for them to get wet - a great way to cool off. There is a kids' roller coaster, but expect to wait in that line a long time too (30 minutes to an hour). When our kids were your kids' age, this was about all they could handle in a day - thus only three activities a day over the course of three days. If we went in the summer, we would probably return one night for the fireworks too, but not stay all day. Oh, and for hydration, I take an empty water bottle and those single serving crystal light packets, then add water from the fountains, to avoid going broke!

Well, I had a bit better experience than S.K., but mine was a bit different of a situation. We went June of last year with my 4 year old son. We left my younger son behind because honestly, there isn't much until you are 4. There are maybe a couple of rides for the 3 year old, but that's it. There is the water park though, so that would be good. We did go during the week, and it was busy but not crazy. We stayed cool by doing the wet roller coasters and that helped. My son had no trouble walking without getting too tired. We also splurged and did a special package where we got there at 8:30 in the morning and did a lot of extra stuff, which made it well worth it for us. We had the best time have been hoping to go back ever since. We will go next year when my younger son is old enough. My husband hates theme parks, and he loved it. It was a very memorable experience for us. I hope y'all have a good time!

We stayed at the Comfort Suites near Sea World. There is a living area separate from the sleeping area (bathroom between with doors). We liked staying there bc we could go early in the morning and do some stuff, come back to the hotel and eat/nap, then go back when it was cooler and do more. We would swim and get wet first then see a show later in the day. Plus breakfast included. We got some groceries for the room so we could lunch in our room and store snacks to take in.
The kid's museum down there is fun (and indoors) if you want an alternate activity and they have a pretty good zoo.

we just got back in May from taking our 2.5 and 4 year olds. The food lines were outrageous...thankfully we (I) smuggled in snacks for the kids. My husband and I didn't eat all day b/c of the lines (upwards to 2.5 hrs for hot dogs)...the kids did great, and they loved it...i would say start at the far end of the park and work your way back towards the gates and dolphin pool. it seemed like a LONG walk to get out of there! :0)
have fun...it wasn't that bad and the kids loved it. but take a "diaper bag" of food!
