We are searching for a new vacation destination for this summer. My husband and I scuba dive but equally important is finding an all-inclusive resort with an awesome kids program for my 3, 6 and 10 year old kids. We've been to numerous resorts in Mexico and are trying to find somewhere new. The Beaches resort in Turks/Caicos is where we're thinking about but would like another alternative to consider. Does anyone know of a scuba destination with a really impressive kids program??? Thanks!!

Hi T.,

I am a travel agent and would be happy to help you find just the right place for you and your family! I think that Beaches Turks and Caicos is an excellent choice for your family. American Airlines has begun non-stop service from
DFW to Turks and Caicos with Saturday departures so it doesn't take all day to get there anymore! :-) Also, the Beaches in Jamaica is an option. My email is ____@____.com Feel free to contact me if I can help you further. S. Johnson

What about a disney cruise? When you port you can leave the kiddos with the kids staff and they do kid friendly tours while you and hubby go scuba diving.

Lots of fun!

My husband and I spent our honey moon in the Virgin Islands and he learned to scuba dive at the Dive Corina Bay Resort on Saint Croix wear we stayed most of our trip. It was kid friendly and relaxing with a great pool and your rooms open to the beach.

It is very difficult to find a resort in a diving destination with a children's program that accommodates a diving schedule. I know, I have been looking for 16 years. We have been to Beaches Turks & Caicos twice, because they are about the only one that will take care of really young children. We have been to the Plaza Resort in Bonaire, but the age requirement there is a little older. We have been to several places where we got private babysitters, with varying success. Fortunately, I have 2 nieces that have been able to travel with us to take care of my daughter, but they are both out of college now and no longer available.

I don't understand why the scuba industry doesn't take its cue from ski resorts. They might be surprised at how popular they would be if they set up a children's program that operated at the same times as the dive boats.
