We are looking for my daughter right now. The colleges claimed they know nothing, found a couple websites but lost track of them because nobody bookmarked them. if you hear anything let us know too.

Mothers & More of DuPage County has a scholarship for moms. You can get more information through The College of DuPage.

You can go to www.fastweb.com to apply for thousands of scholarships. All you have to do is go to the website and fill out a profile on yourself - then you will automatically be matched up with scholarships that you qualify for. It's really easy and there are thousands of scholarships available! Good luck!

My son graduated from high school last year and we did a lot of research through FASTWEB. they have tons of scholarships to apply for. you have to fill out info about yourself and your major etc. and they email various opportunities to you. I don't know if there are any specifically to single moms, but you can always check.

E.,
If you are currently going to school, check your college's financial aid site/office. She should have a list of available scholarships. I know Collge of DuPage has scholarships for single mothers. I hope this helps and good luck.

I know you're in Chicago, so this probably doesn't specifically apply to you, but Harper College has a Women's Center with financial information specifically for single moms. I would check with your college and see if there is an office like that in addition to checking through the regular financial aid routes. Good luck!

Dear E.,

I am a single mom and I go to college. I use Fasfa. Go to www.FAFSA.com or go to www.fafsa.edu.gov You will need your 2007 income tax return and the school id number of the school you are going to. You can either go to the school and get an app or go on line. They paid for all of my school and my books. If you have any questions please feel free to write me. Good luck and congrats. I love being back to school but it is a lot of hard work.

E.,
Contact your congressmen and representatives. They all have scholarships. Check with women's centers and shelters, many of them have scholarships. PATH crisis centers have a wealth of resources as well. Your college's financial aid office should be able to guide you. Don't give up!
