We are thinking of buying a home in Savannah and I was wondering if anyone here had anything to say about this community....good or bad. We actually put some money down to hold onto a house that we fell in love with until we decide what we want to do.

What can I do next?

Hi S.,

I actually live in Savannah. We've been there for 2 1/2 years. You're fortunate to work at home and not have to commute, because that is the biggest problem, commuting. There are way too many communities going in and not nearly enough road space!!
We do have a lot of activities, especially geared towards older kids, the pool is great, but at this point, the one water park we have is starting to get way too small for all the people moving in. I believe there are plans for another, but not really sure when. Also, for the HOA dues we pay, we don't take nearly enough advantage of the ammenities, which is no ones fault but ours, but with the time spent commuting, it's hard to even have the time!
We enjoy living there, away from the "rat race" so to speak, especially since our daughter was born, but as much as they're building up there around the area, it will all catch up in no time. If you're looking to make this a place you'll live for a long long time, then it's great, but I will also tell you, my husband and I had looked into selling and moving closer to our offices, but the resale value on homes up there, at this point, is not good, because they keep building and building.
Anyhow, it is a nice place to live, fairly quiet, as long as you're not near the horse farm on a Sat. night...., which of course, we are! :)It is a wonderful perk to be able to find a house that you love, for the prices up there. We've just got a small little place, but for now, it works for us...though it's amazing how much smaller it got when our daughter was born.....
If you don't mind me asking, are you looking at the new phase up there?

Hi S., my good friend DeeAnnette lives there and built her home about 3 years ago. She absolutely loves it. I have been over many times and it is really a cute house with lots of personality. Your children will LOVE that big water park. Good luck! Oh and I am not sure who her builder was? J. B.

we love it here! It is growing fast. Of course every community has growing pains but we love all there is to do and the families and amenities.

When we were looking for a house we went out there, but for us it was just too far. I work in downtown Dallas and that just wasn't a commute I wanted to deal with. I thought the houses were pretty, but they're more expensive now than they were a few years ago when we started looking. My husband and I pretty much keep to ourselves so I doubt we would have ever taken advantage of the community events, but it sounds like it would be fun if you like that atmosphere.

I cant speak to Savannah specifically, but my sister just bought a house in Providence, and loves the area and the idea! I am actually jealous, and would go out there too if it werent so far from my husbands school!! I think Savannah is a little higher in price, but the community concept is the same, and she really enjoys all of the parks, and looks forward to the pools etc. There are always activities and get togethers going on, so if you like that type of atmosphere, you should love it. That is projected to be an area that grows alot over the next few years, so it could be good to get in there now. Good luck in your decision, it should be a good one. ~A.~

Hi there i have something to say about Savannah and Providence. My friends live in Savannah and its really nice. I like Providence a little more because of the trees. It seems more wooded and i like that.Plus we have a big lake that you can walk or jog around which is nice and we have two pools. I think both communties are great.
