What are you feeding her?Is your water flouridized? I don't know anyplace in Florida where tap water would be ok. Weston Price can help with appropriate food.

My baby had salmonella at 7 weeks and was gone by 5 months She is now 8 months. She has been having loose light green colored stool for two weeks. we had her tested and she has salmonella again!!! After the first time we have been very careful how we cook and clean. Our hands are dried out from washing them so much. Can other things cause Salmonella? Does anyone know if she would be more prone to getting it after already having it? Could it be our water (city water) and she is the only one affected? How does this happen twice before she is a year? Any advice on what to do now would be good.

Is she beast feed, bottle fed, eating certain baby food?
--- If she is breastfed it could be something that you are eating and it passed along to her. Fresh fruits or veggies not well washed or water you drink.
--- If bottled fed it could be either the water that is mixed with the formula or even from washing the bottles (rinsing with water & letting dry). See if there has been a main break in the area around the times your little one has gotten it.
--- With food if you mix in water could be that, if you use a certain brand all the time call the manufacturers.
Do you have animals?
--- Any animal can carry it but reptiles more so. I would double check that everything animals touch is thoroughly cleaned (cages, counters, hands).
--- If you do have a reptile maybe see if a friend or relative without kids or without young kids would be willing to babysit the animal till your little one is older.
As another mom said push to make sure it is not something else... like c-difficille because sometimes bugs are similar to other things and they do not go away unless treated correctly.
By any chance do have reptilian(sp) pets? Iguana's, turtles and snakes can carry salmonella. There have been many reports of iguana's salmonella affecting small children.
Other than that...have you cleaned your fidge and freezer really well? Salmonella can thrive in a fridge.

Has anyone in your house been feeling sick as well? May not be as serious in someone older, maybe just frequent upset stomach.
My newborn was also having green colored stool, our ped. told us it was nothing serious, but we noticed that my 2 1/2 yr old was also have loose stool and I was having upset stomach. When a friend with a newborn who lives in the area started having to same problem we both looked into it and it turned out to be a problem with the water because we had a water main break, twice, in the last 3 months.
Are they sure its salmonella? My daughter has c-difficille. Her stools are green sometimes diarreha and they smell really bad. Make sure she doesnt have this, its a super bug thats hard to get rid of. We cannot get rid of it and our doctor is not helping much. I wish you the best of luck!
