I'm the mother of three two boys ages 16yrs. & 10 yrs. & a 14 month old daughter. I never had to deal with this issue before with my other two but my daughter has manage to catch the Roseola viral infection. Has anyone out there delt with this issue & if so how did you go about treating it? I know there is no cure but any advise will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
R.

Hi my name is S. im 28 yrs old My daughter got roseola about the same age. I brought her to the doctors and they told me to give her aveeno baths and I could give her tylenol or motrin if she looked uncomfortable I also after her baths I rybbed her down with the aveeno lotion.

Good advice from previous post. My DD had it, too, and there wasn't really anything to do and DD had no discomfort from the rash.

I came across some conflicting advice about when she was no longer contagious though. our dr said once the fever broke and some website (i don't recall which -sorry!) said once the rash cleared up. I recall playing it safe and keeping her out of playgroup until it was all gone.

My 19 month old daughter had this about a month ago. We thought it was teeth that was causing her fever, but the dr. said any fever over 101 is not teeth. He said if her fever breaks and then she gets a rash, it is roseola (and indicated she is not contagious at that point). Other than the fever, my daughter was in good spirits and once the rash was gone was fine. We just gave her lots of liquids (and a few popsicles here and there) and tylenol to keep her comfortable.

I had that as a kid. I don't remember having it, but the doctor told my mom that to help get rid of the rash discoloration wash my skin with head and shoulders shampoo. Something in it, probably for dandruff, helps get rid of the rash. Don't use lotion on it though, because it can make it darker or itchy. Hope this helps.
