How do YOU cook ribs?
I have my own way, but thinking I need to change it up a bit. Or atleast vamp up my recipe.
I have a huge rack for tomorrow nights dinner, and I am soooo looking forward to them.
So tell me, how do you cook your ribs?
=)

I boil mine for 30 to 40 minutes with my favorite spices in a big pot.

Then I put them into a ziploc bag with Bbq sauce, more spices and brown sugar. Shake them and then put onto a tin foil lined baking sheet.
Sprinkle more brown sugar over the tops of the ribs so when they cook the sauce caramelizes into deliciousness.

Bake at 350 for 25 minutes and done.

Add cheesy bread and potatoes and you got a yummy meal.

There is a take-out rib place near our house and their ribs are awesome. I call their number and place an order. Works best for me. ;)

The BEST ribs are these: Buy a rack of baby back ribs, cut in 3 or 4 piece sections, place in crock pot. Cut up 1 large onion and place over ribs. Add 2 cups (or enough to cover ribs) your favorite bbq sauce. Cook on LOW for 7 hours in the crock pot. The meat falls off the bone & they taste FANTASTIC! Enjoy!!! (p.s. I NOW am craving ribs! thanks!! haha)

Start with RAW ribs - leave the slabs whole. Line a baking sheet with foil (a jelly roll pan works well because it has a side to it). Rub the ribs with a DRY BBQ rub (I like Pampered Chef's Smoky BBQ rub, but I'm partial). Find one you like. Do not do anything else to the ribs or pan (no oil or water). Put the ribs in a 225 oven for 5-6 hours. Just leave them in there - don't turn them or anything. After the 5-6 hours, take them out, cut the ribs apart & turn the oven up to 350. Brush the ribs with a wet bbq sauce - I like KC Masterpiece Original recipe - or use what you like. Put the ribs back in the oven for maybe 15 minutes - don't burn them. The meat will fall off the bones - I promise.

ok - here is a super easy one for either baby back ribs OR beef ribs. The night before, take your rack of ribs and put them on a large piece heavy duty foil in a pan. pull up the edges, then pour a 16 oz (approx) bottle of regular 7 up over them. (Do NOT use sugar free, I'm told it fails miserably!). Then seal up the edges of the foil and put it in the fridge for the night. The next morning, pour off the liquid, put on whatever rub or seasoning you like and seal it back up. At this point, you can either put it in a slow cooker for 8 hours (in the foil wrapper) - OR in an oven on 225 for 4 hours. Then, pull it out, open it up, and spread on your favorite BBQ sauce. Seal back up and either put on a grill for 15 minutes or back in the oven under the broiler for 15 minutes.

YUMMY and oh so easy!

We put a dry rub on it and let them sit over night. Then put it on the bbq on indirect heat for 2 hours then directly over the coals (heat) for the last 45 minutes to crunch up the outside. Smother with bbq sauce about 20 minutes before taking them off.

Everyone raves about my moms ribs. She only uses pork ribs, boils them in water for about an hour. Then puts them in a large baking pan, dumps a couple bottles of Bulls Eyes BBQ sauce over all of them, covers in foil and bakes at 350 for about 1.5 - 2 hours. Awesome!!!

I rub my down with course salt the night before and then in the morning I put alot of different seasonings on it and cook it on low in the broaster. By dinner time its falling off of the bones its so tender. About an hour before its done I put sauce on it in and then right before I serve it.

I use a recipe from www.ayearofcrockpotting.com. It's John McCain's Rib Recipe (if you look it up).

It calls for --4 lbs of ribs
--2 T garlic powder
--2 T kosher salt
--2 T black pepper
--3 lemons, juiced

Throw it all in the crockpot and cook it on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours. It has a little bit of spice to it and it's easily manipulated to reduce the spice. Very tasty and different.

My friend uses beer in the crockpot, but you can really taste the beer (although I would highly recommend beer as a meat tenderizer). My husband does his in the ground. Digs a hole and lights some charcoal. Then cooks the ribs in the hole with tin foil and BBQ sauce. He uses the grill from the BBQ to put over the coals.

Good luck...lots of new things to try!

I get my ribs from my butcher and I use his method for cooking them.

Take one of the oven baking bags, put ribs in the bag, coat with your favorite BBQ sauce and cook on low heat (I don't remember exact temp) about 4 hours. They are so yummy and the meat just falls off the bones.

My husband's recipe (which got us to stop going to Famous Dave's) is:

Set oven to 250. Put pork ribs in a roasting dish with about an inch of water in the bottom and cover. Bake for 2.5 hours. Take 'em out and drain the water (he usually does a quick wash of the pan then so they'll be less likely to stick). Put them back in the oven, covered, for another 1.5 hours (he puts them so the convex curve is up and the bone tips touch the bottom - again to avoid sticking). Remove, slather with sauce (his preferred one is Famous Dave's Sweet and Zesty) and return to oven, uncovered, until the sauce starts to get tacky. Yum!

We had baby back ribs last night. Soooo good! I cut them into individual ribs, lay them on their sides (so they spoon eachother) in a big cake pan, and bake for an hour at 350. Then pour off the grease and pour on a bottle or two of your favorite bbq sauce. We love Kraft Honey bbq. Then bake them another hour. Eat!
