Ok, helpful moms, I need some advice. I was just introduced to the "bum genius"
diaper. Has anyone used it? Do you like it better than disposable? How many did you buy? Is there another brand you like better? Is just cloth the way to go? How do you get your hubby on board? Any and all information would be helpful!
Thanks!!

What can I do next?

I've heard great things about the bumgenius though I've never used them. All-in-ones are easy, but prefolds with covers are the most economical.

One way to get your husband on board might be to use diaper service. Then there won't be poop! in the same machine that washes their clothes! :)

Seriously, I'm happy to help you in any way possible. Even if it's just for advice.

I use Bum Genius diapers - the one size pocket diapers. I'm not sure which Bum Genius you are talking about, but I LOVE mine! I have seven of them. I also have a few Fuzzi Bunz, some Baby Kangas, and some fitteds (Thirsties Fab Fitted, Snugglebottoms, Swaddlebees). The BG are great; I haven't had any leaking issues at all and they are easy! The only thing that I like better about the Fuzzi Bunz and Baby Kangas is that they are snaps instead of the aplix. But, that's a personal preference, really. I have researched cloth diapering a LOT and can help you if you need. My email is ____@____.com
Oh, and getting your husband on board...most men like the fact that it will cost a lot less than disposable diapers. You can save thousands of dollars. It seems expensive in the beginning because of buying so many diapers and the accessories, but you really will end up spending less. It can be addictive though, all the cute diapers that you'll want to get! The great thing is that cloth diapers have good resale value if you take good care of them. You can buy used diapers - some are not even used, just washed - for less than new, or sell the ones you don't like, or trade..tons of options! The website for that is diaperswappers.com.
Good luck!!

I LOVE my bum genius diapers!!! They are just as easy to deal with as cloth when you are home if you have the sized ones. If you bought the one size kind there is an extra step. I have 16 diapers and that leaves me doing diapers every day and a half or so. I put my daughter (now 16 months) in a disposable at night and when we are out - mainly because she is a heavy wetter and I don't want that to wake her up at night. While we are out, I think it is just easier to throw it away than deal with it in my diaper bag. If you have any specific questions, feel free to message me. I love using them. We used Fuzzi Bunz for her when she was in smalls and I didn't like them as much because you have to deal with the insert.

We love our BumGenius one sizes. We have about 16 we started when DD was about 9 months or so. I think they are pretty easy to use and we have been all cloth now for a few months. I just talked to DH about the $$ savings and the less waste issue and he was on board for trying them. We got ours at kellyscloset.com and they have an awesome return trial policy on the BumGenius so we figured it was worth it to give cloth a try and if we didn't like it we would just go back to disposibles. There is tons of pros and cons to cloth vs disposibles so you just have to pick what you think will work for you.
