My husband and I think that buying a used Honda/Hyundai/Toyota/Volkswagen from a dealership (certified pre-owned) would be a good way to go for a "1st car" for our teenager. We are leary of buying direct from the public because of a past bad experience (several issues with the car). Did anyone have "good experience" buying a used car from a dealership that is local to the "Fairfield County / New Haven County" areas in Connecticut? Which dealership / salesperson? Thank you for your anticipated assistance!

I had an EXCELLENT buying experience back in September at Hamden Chrysler right off exit 60 on the Wilbur Cross Parkway. Granted, I was looking for a Chrysler product, but I have a friend whose family has bought FOUR cars from them in 10 years and has never had a problem. My salesperson was Kelly - she was very personable and professional (Linda is the financing person there, and she seems very genuine as well). I appreciated especially that no one hesitated to show me a car (and test drive it!!) even though my husband was not with me - that is my pet peeve with car dealerships.
