M.M.
Try tea with honey.
Lots of fluids.
And like everyone says dont talk to anyone.
It happens to my daughter every year too.
I don't feel sick. My throat has stopped hurting and that lasted for about a day. But I've lost my voice. Any ideas? Remedies? I don't want to waste money on medicine I don't need. And I don't want to take more time off from work to go to a doctor. :(

I'm a voice/music teacher. Just drink tons of water and take a Motrin, if you have some, to help with the inflammation. Do not use your voice and give yourself a break. Also, take a long, hot steamy shower. The steam will do a world of good. Hope this helps!
Rest your voice and don't whisper. I have found no way to bring back my voice, but I do like warm drinks like apple cider or tea. Doesn't really help, but it feels relaxing on my throat. Hope you feel better soon.
Try picking up some herbal tea with honey. They sell something called throat coat tea at target. it's in the grocery section. It's licorice tea but if you add enough honey it doesn't taste bad.
Also DONT TALK
The tea Beth is talking about can be found in your local store many times in the Health Food area some label it Throat tea what's in it is this (slippery elm) that's what taste like licorice. It actually helps I got laryngitis and my doctor told me to get that tea, not talk and use throat drops etc basically be kind and baby my throat. If this doesn't clear up or improve you really should see a doctor you may have something that needs medication and a doctors opinion.
I've lost my voice over allergy drainage before. My nose wasn't running, I wasn't sneezing. No itchy eyes. I was just constantly clearing my throat. Then woke up with no voice. Allergy meds and lots of water cleared it up.
Don't whisper. It strains the vocal cords more than trying to use a normal tone of voice. If you must try to speak, then do so normally, not in a whisper trying to "save" your voice.
