ok asked my husband (nurse) and he said it sounds like you may be allergic to whatever was in the pool. but deffenetly go to the doc on monday because pink eye can be spread in water too.... good luck, oh hub said cold cuccumber slices help!!!
What is going on with my eye? I took the kids swimming at the city pool Thursday evening. Later that night I noticed my right eye was a little red. I assumed it had something to do with the pool water. Friday it was an even darker red. Today its is still red. It feels a little dry, but it's not itchy and I have no discharge. It does make me very sensitive to light. Any idea of what it could be? Does it sound like pink eye? Can you catch that from a pool?
Thanks!
EDIT** No....I don't wear contacts, but I have had something similar like this when I did. I guess it's a scratch. Sure glad it's not pink eye!! Hopefully the redness will soon disappear :-)

It's probably just a chlorine issue or you scratched your eye. If there's no discharge it's not pink eye..
i dont know if you can catch pink eye from a pool... however the same thing was happening to me last year and my doctor saw that i had a little cut or scrape on my eye. she gave me medical eye drops and it healed in about 2 weeks. also i have had another problem similar but it had to do with my contact solution... i dont know if you wear contacts but if you do, my eye doc told me to start using a no rub disinfectant solution like clear care no rub. i dont know if you wear contacts but there you go.
you could just be extra sensitive to whatever chemical they use in the water. Use gentle eye drops- and call your doc to be sure.
I've had pink eye and I've had red eyes as well as just one red eye. I suggest that the most likely explanation is that something got into that one eye to irritate it. A small scratch would make the eye red. Every case of pink eye that I've experienced as well as seen included a discharge and considerable discomfort.
I've worn contacts and if you do, you can scratch your eye without realizing it and the eye will be irritated and red.
I've gone to the doctor with pink eye and was told to soak the closed eye with a warm moist compress to loosen and clear away the gunk. Other than doing that it's a matter of waiting it out. There is also nothing that you can do about a scratch on your eye. Therefore, I recommend that you call and talk with the advice nurse first before making an appointment.
