My daughter is 12 mos old, and is still using her infant tub. I'd like to move her into the bathtub with either a bath ring or other toddler tub. Can anyone share pros, cons and recommendations on what they use? The inflatable SnugTub looks pretty good, but is it a pain to have to inflate/deflate all the time? Does it dry quickly so as not to get moldy?
First-time mom, obviously~ Thanks for your help.

What can I do next?

Do not do a ring...I had one with my first and I was sitting right there with her but she flipped it over. The suction cups did not stay and when she got excited and was kicking it flipped. I went from the kitchen sink to the big tub, only putting a little water in the tub. Sometimes my kids would lay in the tub and kick there feet, made washing there hair really easy :) Don't bother with another tub!

When my daughter outgrew her infant bathtub we just moved her into the big bath. We bought one of those no skid mats for the floor and put it down. Even before that I usually just got in the tub with her to give her a bath because the little plastic tub was such a pain in the butt to deal with and clunky to store so I just ended up getting rid of it. Just a no-skid suction mat and my two arms.

This is the exact mat I have: http://tinyurl.com/2bb685

I liked the foamy texture rather than those other bubble plastic mats that looked like they'd leave dents in a little tush.

Just like with a little bathtub, make sure you never turn your eyes for a second because a second is all it takes. Only fill the tub up a few inches.

Now that she's 16 months she likes more water in the tub to splash around in and practices putting her face in it (and not sucking it up her nose).

Hi M.

My soon to be 1 year old son LOVES his Munchkin Rubber Duckie bathtub, it's also an inflatable one that we got at Target for I think $9.99 - I figured it was a small enough price to pay and wouldn't feel horrible if it didn't work out. It's cute, and we just store it on our back porch until we need it again - so, if you do not have such storage, then this might not work for you. Oh, and the little beak quackes when you squeeze it, my son loves that too! And so far we have not experience any mold/mildew issues with it. Hope this helps :)

Hi M.,
I had my mother in law babysit one day and came home and she said she and my son had soo much fun in the bath. In the big bath? I said. I had never thought about putting him in the bathtub, as he was only 10 months old. But it was exactly what he needed, because he was becoming too squirmy for the infant tub. He's 13 months now and has been in the big tub ever since. I just put enought water to come up to below his belly button and we haven't had to use a ring or SnugTub. Good Luck and have fun!
