Dr. Nancy Long is wonderful! I've seen her for years. She took care of me through 2 very difficult high risk pregnancies.
Yesterday I took a home pregnancy test, and it was positive! I am very excited and my husband will be as well as soon as he gets back from his business trip and I tell him. According to calculations I'm about 5 weeks along, and this will be our first.
We have only been living here for a couple of years and I have been getting my yearly exams done at my general prac. Can anyone recommend a wonderful Ob Gyn? I have been doing some research, but it seems that quite a few in this area have really upset some of their patients or they are only accepting patients who want to pay extra for a VIP program. Which, I guess I wouldn't mind doing if I knew that it would be worth it, but having never been through this before I'm just not sure.
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you all so much for all of your advice and encouragement!! You have really helped me to not feel so overwhelmed by this task.

I third Dr. Sauter! He is wonderful, patient, kind and easy to talk to. I had a melt down (was a week over due and didn't want to get induced but was scheduled for an induction the following day) and he talked to me on the phone for 15 min calming me down. When I hung up I was calm and my husband said to me that he was shocked at how long a doctor had spent talking to me. We both really appreciate the time he took to talk to me about my options and to make sure that I felt good about them. He really listens to his patients and does his best to give them the birth experience that they want. Congrats and good luck to you!
I used to see Dr. Michelle Lewis (until my insurance changed). She has a one-woman practice off of Green Valley Parkway.
She delivered my son via emergency c-section 27 months ago. She is super friendly and provides great care. She also delivered 3 babies of friends of mine (including a set of twins).
If she takes your insurance, I highly recommend her!
Dr. Timothy Sauter is the one to call ###-###-####. He is on Eastern/wigwam(I believe). He is so patient and never make you feel rushed always has time for all your needs and usually no long waits unless he ahs an emerg. L.:)
Congratulations, C.!!!
I go to Dr. Michelle Lewis. She's great! My friend goes to Dr. Sauter and loves him, as do many moms on mamasource.
Call right away if you are interested in seeing Dr. Lewis as her schedule stays quite full. I was in the office earlier this month, and they were scheduling into January, but since you are pregnant for the first time, you should probably get in sooner.
Have a great pregnancy!

I've had 2 c-sections with Dr Robert Gatlin. He's a bit conservative, but really good at the baby-catching game. ###-###-####
I love, love, love Dr Sauter. He delivered my second and is so great. He is very patient and never has made me feel like a number!! I have had many problems and he has always been one my side, always doing what's best for his patients!. I used to see Dr Lewis and while I liked her when I was going to her, she dumped me like a used hat once I found out I was pregnant. (She wasn't taking any OB patients at the time!) I wouldn't go back! Dr Sauter delivers at St Rose (he used to head the OB dept there!) Hope all that helps! Good luck with your pregnancy!
I second dr sauter!!! He is so great! I have gone thru a LOT with him. He delivered my second baby this year. I had a lot of other complications after my pregnancy (not his fault), and he always made time to see me (even if it was last minute). Plus he is really easy to talk to.......
