I received a slow cooker for Christmas and would like to hear and try some of your yummy recipes! I have never used one before but have tasted incredible meals made in them by others. I don't want anything too difficult. Easy ingredients are KEY. I don't mind if there are 20 ingredients, as long as they are not something difficult that I have to go out of my way to find. I received SO many great recipes when I inquired about mac and cheese that I am looking forward to hearing what ya'll will suggest for my crockpot. Reply with recipes that you've actually cooked and tasted. I just tried the "Slow Cooker Helper" Chicken and Dumplings last night and it wasn't so great. We love chicken, meats, veggies, and potatoes. Beans,CHEESE,pasta, and rice too. Thanks so much!! I have a family of piglets. :)

I have a great crockpot cookbook called Fix It And Forget It. I think I've seen it in Target. Appetizers, stews, even lasagna. You mentioned cheese - try this appetizer - 1 lb. ground beef (or turkey for a lighter version), 1 package Velveeta, 1 can Rotel tomatoes. Brown the meat, drain, cut the cheese in blocks and add all to the crock pot on low. It takes about 1 hour or so, but it's great queso dip for parties. You can also just take a whole chicken and put it in there on low for 6-8 hours with whatever herbs you would usually use. Easy and inexpensive!

Alexandra,

My sister in law was a wonderful cook. She sent me a HUGE list of crockpot recipes, many that I've already tried. Please give me your email address so that I can email the document to you. I think there's about 80 or so recipes in this file in MS Word format.

My favorite is Pot Roast. It's so easy and it makes the house smell so good your counting down to dinner time. Salt and peppter the outside of a roast (2-3lbs) put some carrots in the bottom of the crock pot the amount depends on how many you like to eat. I usually use a bag of the baby carrots so all that i have to do is dump them in. Some people like to put potatoes in as well but i prefer to have mashed potatoes which i make right before dinner. Chop one or two white onions depending on the size. Put them in the crock pot. Place the roast on top of the veggies. Add one tablespoon of worcestershire and then add water. Add enough water to submerse the veggies but not the meat. The meat only be in water a small bit. Add four to six beef bouillon cubes. Add more pepper if you like it spicier. (we prefer to use fresh ground pepper) Then put it on the lowest setting you have. We usually cook ours for ten hours, it falls apart when we take it out! Use the water it was cooking in for gravy. Any part of this can be adjusted to suit your taste. It's almost impossible to mess anything up in a slow cooker.
