Hi K.,

My daughter always had a rash when she was teething and drooling all the time. The rash itself, never seemed to bother her. I think it bothered me more than it did her. Ha! If it starts to get a lot worse, you could always put a very thing layer of something on it just to protect the skin from the moisture. I would suggest pure lanolin. If you don't have any, you could use a&d ointment or even just a triple antibiotic ointment. Please be careful to use only a small amount of these though since she does have a chance of ingesting some of it since it's on her face. Pure lanolin would be the best thing I can think of.

Good luck to you!

Good Morning.

The rash is most likely from the increased acidity in your baby's mouth that normally occurs with the process of teething. You can gently wash the area with a soft moist cloth that has a little baking soda and water mixed. Aquaphor is great for irritated skin, it moisturizes but the skin can breathe.

I hope that helps.
Warmly,
D.

Hello I am new at this but I do know that you can use Burt's Bees diaper rash cream on it. I know that sounds funny but it is kindof like a diaper rash but on her face. I use all burt's bees stuff beacuse it is all natural. I spoke to my doc about this and she said it was fine and it works great. I would not use anything else and just use alittle. It is ok if she gets it in her mouth because it is all natural. Good luck!!! Let me know

My daughter gets the same rash. Its called a TEETHING RASH. It is very common for babies to get this. It is caused from excessive drooling. I wouldn't worry about it. It will come and go as her little teeth come in.

My son started doing this after he started teething. My dr. told me it was because of the drool. I cant remember what he called it, but he told me to use a tiny bit of Hydrocortizone cream, and it took it right away.

You can always use vaseline or some aquaphor on it. That will protect the skin from the moisture and help keep the skin dry.
