My husband will be turning 40 soon. I thought I might get him a ride in a race car at TX Motor Speedway for his birthday in a few months. Does anyone know the best place to sign up or have any advice? Thanks!
Wow! I got a lot of good advice and I can hardly wait to see how excited my husband will be to have this birthday surprise! Thank you all so much for the great information! You're the best!

This is what I found by poking around on the TMS website:

I've thought about doing this for my husband. I hope yours enjoys it! B.
You just contact the office at TMS. These are GREAT!! My husband won this once on a radio contest and he had a blast! It was about 6 years ago and he STILL tells everyone about it...LOL. They aren't inexpensive I know. I am thinking around 250.00-300.00. Here is their website:
http://www.texasmotorspeedway.com/ I am sure he will love it as much as my hubby did. I am going to do it for myself next year and I can't wait! :)
There are several different racing schools/driving experiences that take place at TMS. The below link gives you their information. Sounds like a fun gift!

he will love, love, love this! i did it for my hubby's 40th a year and a half ago and he still talks about it! we used texas driving experience (www.texasdrivingexperience.com) and i would definitely go back. they were super helpful! it was a little pricey for me to manage without him knowing or catching on, so i enlisted the help of our parents to pitch in on the cost and invited them all to town for the day of breakfast & surprising him with the trip to the speedway. we did the 10 lap drive / 5 lap thrill ride combo and it was a great time for him & for us to get to watch :)
You can call Texas Motor Speedway directly or you can go to their website. There are different prices for different types of drives. Good luck!
Your husband will love it--mine sure did. He was like a kid when he got out of the car and he immediately said he wanted to do it again! Looks like everyone told you where to look--the web is a terrific resource.
My husband and my dad have done this twice and loved it. Both times that they did it, we used Team Texas. I hear from friends that have done it, that the experience from Team Texas is better than the one from Richard Petty Driving school. My husband wants to go back now and do some of the other classes that are all day or more. Hope this helps.
These guys are great. I got my husband the 10 lap driving experience for our 1st anniversary and he still talks about it!
My mom gave my dad this gift for his b day one year and he LOVED it!! He did throw up in the car though so you may want to have your hubby take some anti nausea meds if he does it!! Have fun!
