Usually it the cyst bursts as you say, doctors call it breaking up. It is a good thing. A lot of cysts burst and desolve on their own. I wouldn't stress over it until I get my doctors report.
I was recently diagnosed w/ PCOS. I'm somewhat familiar with the disorder however, I didn't realize how much it effects the body. I had a CT scan yesterday which revealed a large cyst on one of my ovaries and the cyst had burst. I didn't know this could happen and so I'm wondering if any mom's have gone through this? What else is there I can do after the cyst bursts? I called my Endocrinologist and Gynocologists to review that report but for now, I'm just looking for mom's opinions who have gone through this.

I was diagnosed w/PCOS two years ago, but I've never had a cyst burst. Sorry that I can't help you with that! However, there is a fabulous support website for women w/PCOS: http://www.soulcysters.net Best site out there for info on PCOS & other women's experience with it. I've gotten better answers there than from my doctors, sometimes! GL!
I have a severe case of PCOS and have never heard of a cyst bursting that was associated with it. As far as I know, PCOS consists of cysts inside the ovaries not on the outside. I would definitely recommend talking to your gynecologist about this because I don't know if they are necessarily related. Cysts on the outside of ovaries normally hormone related.
I used to get ovarian cysts when I was younger. I had experienced horribly pain in my abdomen and my OBGYN ordered a pelvic Ultrasound. I found out a year after my ultrasound that they had found a ruptured cyst and never told me - I won't go into the medical ethics there but in any event I had it happen twice and other than the fact that I had so much pain all I could do was lie in the fetal position nothing else really happened. I was put on orthotricyclen and that ended the episodes. I went off it to have kids and never went back on it and I am still OK after 5 years.
