Hello.... I was wondering if anyone has used melatonin or the product 'no jet lag' and had any success with it. I will be traveling to Holland next week to visit my in laws and want to help minimize jet lag for all of us as much as possible. I read that no jet lag is safe for children.

Please share any experiences with the above or anything else that might have worked for you! Thanks!

Hi Barb!
I use "arnica" for jet lag. Ask for it at
Wholefoods. It's fine for the kids. Have a blast on your big adventure!

I don't remember what it's called, but I know that Hyland's makes something. You could probably find it at just about any health food store.
Good luck!

We use melatonin for sleep issues (PTSD, autism, disrupted sleep cycles) and it works great here. We find it's better to give as little as possible for dosing for it to work the most effectively.

Hi B., Your best bet is to keep hydrated (planes can be very dry), eat lighter meals, and the first couple of days keep a restfull, quiet schedule. Since the Netherlands are a full 7 hours ahead of our eastern standard time it may be a bit of a challenge but with some thought you can get through the jet lag easily. Have a great trip!

B.- I am no expert but I have used melatonin in the liquid form to combat jet lag for the kids and myself. I found it worked best when traveling east. I gave them a 1/4 dose at their normal bedtime and they would get sleepy and it would only take about 2 days to get back on a schedule. Going west we have much more trouble with jet-lag and it lasts for 4 or 5 days.
Good luck and enjoy your trip.

I have traveled all over. Usually, one only get jet leg when you fly east, so you will most likely get it when you come home.
