I personally see no issues with it, but if you are unomfortable with it then by all means donate or gift it forward.
We're moving very soon and needing to get rid of a lot of things. One thing that I'm questioning about is a Bible (quad of the Holy Bible (Old and New Testament), Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price. It has no writing, no marks, etc .... it's essentially brand new. Is it considered bad taste to sell it? Maybe I should give it to someone in need? They are not cheap, I know. So, anyway, I was just wondering if things like that should NOT be re-sold?? Thanks in advance, everyone!
I personally see no issues with it, but if you are unomfortable with it then by all means donate or gift it forward.
I don't see a problem with it. I see them at estate sales and flea markets all the time. We found a really nice one, I think from Goodwill. Someone may feel blessed to have found it.
Yep - I'm not even religious and I don't think it feels right to sale at yardsale. I would donate to a shelter, VA or something like that.
Maybe you could put these more religious texts in a box labeled "free". Then you don't have to waste time donating them, and someone can pick them up at your sale, if so inclined. That way you are feeling bad about selling them for $$.
You know....I think that calling the local Bishop or Branch President to find out if there is someone in need would be a very kind thing to do. Or just call the missionaries. They go to homes to do the lessons and if someone was serious about getting baptized that would be a very nice gift for them to give to the new member.
Since it's a book of scriptures I would give it to someone that needs it. If you have LDS friends then maybe one of them might buy it if you posted you were going to sell it. They might jump at the chance to buy it.
I actually bought a Bible at an auction once because no one was bidding on it and I couldn't bear the thought of it getting thrown out.
If this were me, and I could afford to do so, I would check into donating it. Otherwise, I wouldn't really have a problem selling it at a yard sale. It's not like a bolt of lightning is going to get you or something. lol!!
My sister collects antique Bibles - we're always looking out for them at yard sales and Goodwill, etc.
Good luck!!!
Donate to a church, women's shelter, etc.. I personally would not sell a Bible at a yard sale.
I would donate it to the missions team at church.
I would see no issue with selling them
Another vote to donate it!
Religious bookstores sell Bibles, do they not?
I would have noproblem with you selling it if you no longer want it .
If you're not using it, and someone else could, then I think it's fine to sell it at a yard sale. That's the purpose of a yard sale.
Not bad etiquette. Stores sell them, why not you?
I like Gamma's response. It should be fairly easy to donate to your church. You could also list it on Freecycle.com.

Personally - I would not sell a Bible at a garage sale.
I would donate it to a church, list it on ebay or craigslist.
If you know someone who is having a tough time? Then by all means - pass it on them and tell them you found solace in it.
Good luck!
You could sell it, if you really need the money for it.
In my Catholic tradition, selling a religious item is allowed, but it would need to be blessed again after being purchased.
Since you are questioning whether you should sell them... even if other people have no problem, follow the old principle: when in doubt, don't. Give it to your church leaders and ask them to find a good home for the books.
You can sell pretty much anything else at a yard sale so that should be fair game too.
I would make a donation out of them. Bibles etc. can be expensive and I'm sure they're are people attending that would love to have one that can't afford one.
I have bought bibles at yard sales and at the Goodwill store. I think it is fine to sell it at a fair price.
Nothing wrong with it - everything is fair game at a yard sale. Someone will be very happy to find it at a cheaper price than in a store! It would be a find for a religious person, just as an antique would be for an antique dealer. Just remember you can't be choosy about who buys it. If a person offers you your full asking price, you need to sell it to them even if you think they are unworthy or will just turn around and sell it to a used book store for a profit. If it bothers you for some reason then donate it to a church. Or if you'd still like sell it, maybe a used book store would buy it and then you'd be sure that someone who buys it from there has purposely gone looking for it.
sell or donate it. I don't think it would be in bad taste to do either
No one will think you've lost your religion - just that you have extras to spare (as many do)
I have seen Bible's at garage sales...Book of Mormon too. Don't see the problem!
Do not sell at yard sale. Why would you want to get rid of it? I guess if you must, donate it to church.
