My girls have had both and the rose petal cottage was a waste of money. It gets so dirty from play and it does not come clean. It is not made well so the bars will bend and it will fall apart in less than a year.
Would love any input on which would be better for a child. She is two and loves pretend play with dolls, kitchen stuff, etc. Trying to figure out which one she would enjoy more. I was looking at a play fridge and stove versus the rose petal cottage stuff. Don't know much about the rose petal cottage but a friend suggested that to me. Would love others who could speak from experience.

My dd who is turning 7 - loves her play kitchen still - we are doing her room over to be a "big girl room" per her request - meaning no more princess theme with castles on the walls and tulle canopy etc. - she is keeping her kitchen - but ready to get rid of her Rose Petal Cottage - she is still very little for 7 - and she did enjoy the cottage - but it is a hassle - we have a HUGE pop up playhut that she enjoys more!
The play kitchen I have is 10 years old, has lasted through many years of home day care and 4 kids of my own. It's still in excellent shape! I originally bought it because I liked the look of the wooden kitchens better than the plastic ones. Here's a link to it, though you can find it for much cheaper. You can also find the matching refrigerator and other furniture.

I have a friend has both and after the initial excitement wore off, the Rose Petal Cottage got little use and her kids seemed too bg for it pretty quickly. She's planning on getting rid of it because it takes up a bit of space for something that doesn't get used. The play kitchen, however, gets used all the time. My SIL got a great deal on a NIB wooden set on craigslist.
we have a little tikes kitchen. It is a grill on one side and a kitchen on the other side. It requires batteries for the sounds that it makes. We got it for my son 2 yrs ago and he still plays with it. It's worth the investment.
My daughter is 6 and still loves the whole dres up, kitchen, play center etc... We have had like 4 kitchens lol! I love the one we have now. I got it from Big Lots for I think 65 or 85. It is wood. And was orginially $200 at target and so forth. IT is sturdy etc. We have had 3 plastic previous ones but she "outgrew" them as they were a little babish. This one is great and she grow with it!
They still have them at Big Lots. I know the one in Keller of 1709 has them. We were not fans of the Rose Petal one.
