Has anyone ever had Dr. Peter Kuhl with Lonestar OB Gyn as their OB GYN? I am considering switching to him from my regular OB GYN due to the fact that Dr. Kuhl Delivered me. This is the thing, I like my regular OB GYN like 95% and that 5% is making me want to switch due to the fact that what I saw from Dr. Kuhl I liked, but I obviously don't know him that well. So I just want a second opinion about him.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Just wanted to thank everybody for your response. I called and made an appointment with Dr. Kuhl...it was a little hard to get an appointment due to the receptionist always being away from her desk..but she finally called me back and the appointment is set!! Thank you once again.

I don't know dr kuhl, but i go to lone star for the midwives. They helped me with the birth of my son and they were wonderful. All of the staff in the office(regular side and the midwives)have been super. If you have heard goodthings about this particular doctor, i say switch.

Dr. Kuhl was recommended to me by six other women. I have really liked him. He has a great bedside manner, is very attentive, and doesn't try to push his own agenda. Sometimes I have to wait a while in the waiting room before my appointment, but otherwise no complaints!

Hi! I've don't know Dr. Kuhl personally, but I've seen him recommended highly on other message boards, so if that's your 'gut', I'd go with it. Good luck!

i don't know Dr. Kuhl personally, but i know him by reputation on the midwife side of things, three ways. First, i went to Lonestar for the midwives program and i loved them. they, in turn, love Dr. Kuhl. they said if not for him, lonestar midwives would not exist. Dr. Kuhl is pretty famous in the san antonio OB world.

Secondly, i know Dr. Kuhl's son. He's Dr. Eric Kuhl, my dentist! I went in for a checkup and explained that i didn't want xrays b/c of pregnancy, etc. and Dr. Kuhl asked who was caring for my pregnancy. when i told him lonestar midwives, he knew them all and told me that his dad was an OB over there. he didn't mention how well-known his dad is, but he was very happy w/ my choice of lonestar midwives.

Thirdly, one of the kids room staff at my gym has known Dr. Kuhl all her life b/c her mom was a private midwife, and Dr. Kuhl was her attending of choice for many years. She'd use Dr. Kuhl in a heartbeat! she delivered w/a midwife for both her kids, and Dr. Kuhl visited her each time he was on rounds, just so he could check on her, even though she was not his patient.

so, i hope this helps with your second opinion. good luck!

Dr. Kuhl was my OB while I was pregnant with my boy/girl twins. Initially I couldn’t stand him. I felt rushed and ignored at my very first appointment and vowed to myself that I would go to the 2nd appointment with a list of questions and not let him leave the room until I was ready.
He was completely different at the 2nd appointment (and every one thereafter) and was the picture-perfect docter. He has an old-school wisdom and trust-your-body ideology, but is still very up to date on his info. My husband and I absolutely loved & trusted him. And his entire staff was always very sweet and polite. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
