Hi I'm looking for recommendations on ABCmouse for my 3 years old. It seems the site has a lot of content, which subjects does your kid play most? Literacy, math, music or just games? Did your kids like it? Thanks

What can I do next?

Another one to check out is Starfall, my kids enjoyed playing around on there at that age. I didn't even pay the $10 (or whatever it is) to access everything, they just played on what they could access and were content with that.
I didn't expect them to truly learn anything from it... I just liked having a diversionary option for them that was mildly educational. Like letting them watch SuperWhy or WordWorld.

I never went to preschool and no one ever read to me or "worked" with me as a child. The adults in my life weren't tuned in that way.
BUT, by watching 30 minutes of Sesame Street five times a week I went to K knowing all my letters, numbers, colors, shapes, several songs, how to share and be a kind, tolerant friend and more.
And it's free!
I'm sure ABC Mouse is great but why pay for something when you have a proven product that's right there at no cost every day? You can probably even stream shows for free online :-)

I read to our son at every opportunity - just about every Dr Seuss book there is.
We didn't let him play with a computer till school started requiring he spend some time on it.
Kids need person to person interaction for verbal/language skills.
I'm sure there are people who just love the site - but you can do plenty without it.

I definitely think it's worth it!! Got it for my 4 and 6 year old and it was a bit young for my 6 year old but she still played it off and on for a year. Definitely a great thing even though it's pricey!

I just moved to this area not to long ago and I have a 4 year old son. I tried to sign him up for preschool but all the schools were not accepting any new kids. so I signed him up for ABC mouse . HE LOVES IT! And within the last week he already knows how to write his ABC's and some adding and subtracting. I personally would suggest this to anyone!

We considered it but decided it wasn't worth the cost. For as little time as our kids spent on the computer we were fine with free games on PBSkids.

I tried the free trial when my daughter was 4, and wished I would have started earlier. I wasn't able to afford preschool and noticed that she knew the abc song but couldn't identify all the letters. I already spent a lot of time with her and tried flash cards, games, and te like-but she didn't last long with most of my educational efforts. Also tried starfall, read write word (recommended by a teacher friend). But she really took to abc mouse. She loved tracing letters. She really loved earning tickets and buying stuff for her virtual world (she would ask my input). By the time kidnergarten started she could write her full name (8 letters in her first alone). I didn't allow her to do it daily -maybe 3 times a week tops (rainy week) and I still felt it was worth the money.
I also bought her the rock n learn DVDs for sight words she loves watching those from time to time also.
