Have you heard of Goo Gone? It works with any sticky substance from stickers to tree sap to paint. Good luck!
My older daughter got a container of that noise putty as a gift and left it out after playing with it. My younger daughter got a hold of it and dumped it out on my couch and my carpet. I don't know anything about this stuff and am afraid to try anything just yet. My carpet and couch have big, blue patches and I need to know if anyone else has dealt with this stuff and what you might use. The only thing I have heard is not to get it wet because it sticks worse so I need some help now. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi S.,
I had the same experience with my 6 year old daughter. She left pink putty on my couch. I found that what worked was using ice. Don't soak the couch but rub ice on the putty for 30 sec and scrape the putty gently with your fingernail. Rub ice again when needed. All the putty came off. It took a while since there was a lot of putty I had to scrape off. Hope it works for the carpet. Ice works for bubblegum too!

We had this happen with neon yellow putty in beige carpet. If my suggestion doesn't help you, just google "removing silly putty from carpet". You will be amazed how many people have experienced this (and how many have permanently banned it ever since!). I tried the least invasive advice first, which was to pull out the biggest piece possible and use it to pull the rest out of the carpet. I admit, I was skeptical, but there was not a single bit of putty left when I was done, and amazingly it didn't pull any of the carpet out either--it was pretty well ground in by the time I found it. The most common advice I saw was to use either rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone to remove it, but that may not be necessary. Good luck!
If there is any residue behind after getting it out, you might look into one of the Motsenbocker formulas, or Folex, or Oops.
I don't know how to get it out but if it were me, I would call a carpet place and then a furniture store and tell them what happened and what it looks like and get their suggestions.
My son got blue putty on our carpet and I had to eventually cut it out the carpet! I just cut strands out. I got most of it out with ice and scraping, but then I noticed more and more spots. Now our household rule is that no putty even play do is allowed in our house at all. That is an outside toy! LOL! Good luck
one of my boys just got the same stuff (purple) on my new blanket. I did ask.com and found several remedies...such as ice or WD 40, then alcohol, then dishwashing liquid, then water. I'm trying ice first. Good luck.
Hi S.,
I cannot be positive as I have never had to deal with this but would it be the same as gum? Because if so, you could ice it and then scrape it off with the dull side of a butter knife.
Good luck to you,
B.
Go to HGTV.com or Diy.com or Google type in stains you will probably find so many ideas your head will spin! You could call the putty manufacturer.
I have one word for you!! Sol-U-Mel!! You may have never heard of it. A company called Melaleuca manufactures it. I just know it will work for you. Let me tell you how to get it at wholesale. You will never have to worry about anything like this again. I promise!!! Just private message me and I'll tell you about the company. Even better is that it is completely safe for your kids and you to be around. They only manufacture products that are better for us and the environment.
Have you ever heard of Goo Gone? My mother-in-law swears by it and I used it to take tree sap out of a velour jacket. It basically just disolved the stickiness and then it washed right out with no color loss or anything. I think you can use it on carpet and upholstery too. It has a citrusy kind of smell. Don't know if you could use it on putty, but it's worth reading the label and maybe calling the number for questions.
