Manual pump in the bathroom stall.
Hi All,
Here's my question...how do I manage pumping this Sunday while I'm away from my son all day at the Cubs game? I'll be gone for the majority of the day and I'm taking the train. I can lug my pump with me, but where the heck do I pump at or near Wrigley? I consider myself pretty creative when it comes to pumping in public/while I'm gone all day, (I usually pump in the car) but not sure how to handle this one.

Believe it or not when my daughter was about a month old, my husband and I took her to a Cubs game, baby bjorn and all. This was five years ago, but I remember there was an area on the ground floor near/across from the concession that was a "family room" or "nurses station." I'm sure it is still there. It could give you the privacy you need. I remember we changed my daughter there and fed her, too. Plus she was able to see Sammy Sosa hit a home run! Now, you know that was a long time ago. Hope this helps and have a great day.
I would agree on the hand pump thing. You'll save yourself the aggravation and it works pretty well. I got more milk from the handheld than from my medela advance pump in style.
I was nursing full time last summer when I crewed on an all-day sailing regatta. I took my hand pump with me and ran down into the cockpit to pump in between races (or during runs when they didn't need me!) I brought a little cooler with some blue ice to store the milk. It was hectic but I managed to keep my boobs from exploding (just barely) and brought back about 5 oz with me. (and then, much to my relief, fed my son a BIG meal!)
If you can swing it a hand pump would work pretty well. You can either do the rest room trick (not glamorous but it could be worse) or just bring a light jacket and put it over you backwards to cover yourself up and you can pump right in your seat. Probably nobody will be the wiser. :)
I'll be at that game too - and I still nurse my son - but fortunately my boobs can go for 6 hours at a time now without being emptied :)
I was nursing when I went to a Northwestern football game. I took a hand pump (not an electric one as there's no where to plug in). I pumped in the bathroom stall - really not comfortably but it worked - and then dumped the milk.
If you can pump at a restaurant bathroom before and after the game, that may be a good choice too.
