My daughter has been wearing Pull Ups for a little over 2months now...i was wondering if anyone has had any problems with Pulls Ups? I've noticed in the past couple of weeks she has developed a rash on the inside of her thighs...just wanting to see if anyone else has had this problem or not.

What can I do next?

Pullups are to expensive and they are smart enough to just be plain lazy and pee in them. They aren't suppose to be totally comfortable or greatly obsorbent. I think they are suppose to feel yucky, but leaving them on, since it is sort of a diaper, can lead to rashes big time. Honestly, with all my kids, I just showed them a potty movie and talked to them about it and put them in regualar underware by three years old. My daughter immediatly hated the pee running down her leg and was trained in three days and my son did good with the peeing, but took longer on going number two. It helps to get underware that have a favorite theme they love. So I would say...Don't pee on Dora or Thomas, she thinks that is yucky... and they were like..OHHHHH! It helped a lot!

Have you tried a larger size? My daughter had that problem, they might seem a little loose for your comfort as far as leaks go but I rarely had that problem, besides the point of pull ups is to not go in them!

I think Pull Ups are a marketing ploy by diaper companies...I have three children and we have never used them. They really are not great for children's development in the potty training area...once they are ready for the potty, they should wear underwear so they can feel when they are wet. I would say go back to diapers and wear underwear when they are potty training...once they feel the wetness a couple of times, they will work harder to use the toilet

Hi K.,
Well, my son did get a rash on his butt when he started wearing pull ups, I don't know if they are linked, doctor called it inphatiago (spelling?) He did not say anything about the Pull Ups but I do wonder.
I am curious to see others responses to this as well.

that is usually due to basic diaper rash or possibly heat rash which my second child who is 6 now has always had bad problems with heat rash and my third child who is now 3 in goodnights both have had a bad problem with heat rash. i thought at first that it was an allergic reaction. a little bit of 1% hydrocortizone cream or a cool bath should clear that right up usually. don't worry i have dealt with this with 3 boys. god bless you and take care.

We haven't had this problem but some kiddies are just more sensitive than others. You might try the other brand.

Impetigo is a highly contagious skin infection so it's very different than an allergic reaction type rash.

My oldest son had this same problem, especially when it was warm outside. I found out that the cheap diapers were actually better for him. The Walmart brand worked very well and he never broke out using them. Hope this helped.

I completely agree with Melanie. Pull-ups in no way at all help with potty-training. To a kid there is no difference in wearing a diaper or wearing a pull-up, so it doesn't teach them NOT to pee in pants, as they aren't wearing pants and they know it! On the other hand, I have had a couple bed-wetters, and they were a life saver then. By "bed wetter" I mean completely potty-trained during all waking hours and not having many (if any) accidents. In fact, we didn't even buy pullups until he was already potty trained and still wetting at night.
I have had that problem that you are describing. I found it to be the brand we were using (generic from Family Dollar), so I switched brands and then it didn't happen anymore.
